Full description of the position

Experienced, take-charge professional with the ability to market and sell events at a variety of event venues. This position requires a big-thinker who can brainstorm and create revenue opportunities. Must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.

The Event Sales Manager should have an appreciation for special event management, provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional, and be able to build relationships with new and existing customers.

SALES (90%):

  • Lead Management - Owns the entire lead pipeline (all sources) and moves clients from initial contact to site visit to proposal to signed contract
  • Communication - Responds to all leads within 24 hours of interest.
  • Sales Goals - Meet or exceed monthly sales goals per venue
  • Proposals - Manages the proposal process and works to convert every lead into a definite event
  • Contracts - Maintains knowledge of all venue policies and procedures to protect the venue from any issues that may arise
  • Site Visits - Maintain a schedule of at least (5) days during the week and weekends to host potential clients. Coordinate appointments and client site visits to see our space, and scheduling of events on the calendar.
  • Experiences - Work with the Event Director and Studio Manager to book and coordinate glass activities and demonstrations for events.
  • Upsells - Work closely with Bar Manager to facilitate additional sales opportunities with beverage upgrades.
  • Client Management - Oversees the pass-off to event services manager for a smooth transition and a seamless client experience

EVENT PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT (10%)

  • Should be able to step in and assist with managing events, if needed. However, this is not the role’s primary function.
  • When needed, act as Venue Coordinator for events at the venue(s), completing all the duties required there in to host a successful event.
  • Coordinate events in compliance with Third Degree’s processes and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5-7 years experience selling or coordinating special events
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading skills, and speaking.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone
  • Ability to accomplish projects with little to no supervision
  • Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality
  • Physically able to perform event setup-tables, chairs, supply stocking-beer, wine, soft drinks, if needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; significant work experience can substitute for the degree.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Money handling preferred but not necessary

COMPENSATION

  • $50,000-$60,000 (based upon experience), salaried W2
  • Schedule - 40 hours per week, availability on weekends and evenings required on occasion
  • 80 hours PTO annually (eligible after 4 months)
