Full description of the position

SUMMARY

The Business Development Officer is a position vital to the success of Averica’s ongoing operations. This individual plan and implement short- and long-term sales and service development programs targeted at existing and new markets. He/she sells the company’s services to external customers, performing all functions of sales from prospecting to closing to ongoing customer relationship management.

This is a key team position and reports to the Business development Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Operates independently, with the assistance of management, to achieve targets, managing a portfolio of accounts including established customers and prospects while continuously building pipeline.

2. In collaboration with Marketing, coordinates sales efforts to capitalize on marketing campaigns including targeted emails, email blasts, and press releases. Contributes insight regarding sales tactics and strategy to the design of marketing efforts.

Develops and recommends service positioning and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.

Achieves sales targets within territory and account base.

Achieves profit/loss ratio and market share targets within company service functions.

Contributes customer knowledge to market research so that the company can react to changing market and competitive conditions.

Develops and understanding of competitor services, sales and marketing activities.

Writes quotes and contracts within the capabilities of the company. Establishes deliverables that are clear and realistic for each project. Assists Operations/Lab staff in understanding deliverables.

Is responsible for preparation of sales activity reports, updating forecasts, as needed, and presents to executive management.

Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image and brand in all sales activities.

Assists in planning annual trade show and conference attendance, working with Marketing to identify specific opportunities such as presentations, sponsorship, or exhibition opportunities. Represents the company at trade shows and conferences.

Meets with clients, maintains relationships, negotiates and closes deals.

Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.

Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.

Contributes to the development and continuous improvement of the company’s sales process.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May manage external contract relationships with external sales or other services providers as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, with at least two years professional experience in Sales.

· Minimum five years industry experience is desirable.

SPECIFIC SKILLS

· Ability to communicate effectively orally or in written form with co-management and with internal and external customers.

· Ability to function independently, with strong organizational skills, a well-equipped remote office, fully connected and with backup resources in the event of loss of cell phone/computer/internet service.

· Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM application.

The primary work environment includes ambient room temperatures, lighting and office equipment found in a typical office environment.

The performance of this job may require travel up to 35% of the time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
