Inside Sales Representative General Summary
Reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, the individual will be positioned in a team environment, working closely with the Inside Sales Team, Regional Sales Team, and Technical Sales Team, driving the overall Company Business Strategy. The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) plays a vital role within the Inside Sales Department and is responsible for identifying and developing sales opportunities within a strict list of named strategic accounts. Specifically, this position is accountable for driving opportunities, developing account plans, contract negotiations, and post-sales management with Rochester’s most significant current and prospective customers. Further, the SAM is expected to sell the entire Rochester product solution and must effectively represent Rochester’s full suite of products and services using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs, resulting in revenue generation.
Inside Sales Representative Responsibilities
- Owner of direct strategic customer activities within a defined customer base, working with the Regional Sales Manager and Technical Manager to increase sales of Rochester Electronics products and services to customers per agreed strategies and business plans.
- Deep understanding of the market and technologies that Rochester sells, including our business/industry and our competitors, and the ability to use this knowledge to build a strategic account plan for our largest customers in the assigned Territory.
- In conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager, the position will be responsible for managing the entire sales cycle from lead generation, qualifying business opportunities, creating and delivering sales presentations, creating sales proposals, and negotiating and closing the deal.
- Build strong business relationships within assigned accounts and ensure alignment of internal resources, i.e., Regional Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Production, to ensure we are well-positioned with the customer to win and execute high-value solutions.
- Exercise strong financial skills in the evaluation and preparation of sales opportunities and sufficient organizational and project management skills to manage customer needs and drives issues to resolution.
- In tandem with the Regional Sales Manager, lead sales strategy sessions for named accounts while contributing to and coordinating the execution of the account plans, ensuring the accurate production of account plans, business case preparation, appropriate contract presentation, and the effective delivery of account plan activities.
- Consistently demonstrate strong product knowledge and ability to articulate our complete value proposition.
- Responsible for accurate and timely forecasting of new business opportunities and revenue for the customer base and ensuring CRM is utilized and maintained daily.
Inside Sales Representative Qualifications
- BA or BS Degree Required
- A minimum of 7 years of technical sales experience and a proven track record of successfully selling high-tech product solutions (Strong working knowledge of the Semiconductor industry required)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to influence people without authority
- Proven background in developing relationships with key decision makers and influencers including experience in closing complex product deals
- Flexibility and multi-tasking, ability to undertake several tasks at once and manage them to completion
- Ability to work through a problem and maintain focus with little or no supervision
- Strong team player and exhibits a positive work attitude at all times
- Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
