Core Essential Functions:

  • Coordination/Utilization of Services
  • Works in conjunction with referral sources to determine DME and supplies appropriate for patients and providing follow up as needed.
  • Cognizant of payer requirements for reimbursement, and act as a resource for facility staff. Responsible for understanding and communicating limitations regarding either Medicare or managed care coverage.
  • Keep statistical information, maintaining and submitting monthly reports showing referrals and growth by account.
  • Communication, Collaborative Relationships and Interpersonal Skills.
  • Maintains a collaborative relationship with physicians and other health care providers to achieve desired patient outcomes and assure a continuous flow of patient care. Effectively promotes harmonious relationships within the organization.
  • Demonstrates a high level of tolerance, both mental and emotional, when dealing with stressful situations.
  • Uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgment and a professional attitude when dealing with patients, families, physicians, and co-workers. Excellent communication skills. Follows channels of communication.

  • Responds to referral sources, striving to improve customer satisfaction. Follows up with physician concerns regarding care or services.

  • Collaborate with referrals sources in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.
  • Coordinates with any DME management team regarding their ability to provide needed care to patients.
  • Identifies potential problem situations and intervenes to offset adverse impact.
  • Ensures adherence to confidentiality standards regarding patient information.
  • Responds to changes in workload as necessary. Utilizes time in a productive manner.
  • Advises DME management team of potential problems related to referrals or services.
  • Education
  • Demonstrates effectiveness in instructing physician, staff and patients on their rights and responsibilities as a customer.
  • Promotes DME services through education of the community and referral sources. Conducts in-services to targeted areas to foster improved understanding of services provided.
  • Contributes to the educational programs of new employee and others who may be receiving experience in this area.

Specialty Essential Functions:

  • Plans and coordinates in conjunction with the manager the marketing of the organization's products and/or services
  • Meets marketing goals to ensure the share of market and profitability of products and/or services.
  • Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure the profit growth and expansion of company products and/or services.
  • Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ration and share of the market performance in relation to pre-set standards and to general and specific trends within the industry and economy.
  • Recommends changes in basic structure and organization of marketing group to ensure the effective fulfillment of objects assigned to it and provide the flexibility to move swiftly in relation to marketing problems and opportunities.
  • Works with commercial and DME customer service representative to manage all sales accounts.
  • Provides good account management for assigned facilities and clients through sales calls, in-services, etc.

III. Marginal Functions: Defined as duties that are not essential in nature and do not take a considerable amount of time to complete (less than 10%).

  • Promote, educate and support current and new product concepts.
  • Maintains monthly sales quota and performance expectations.
  • Assist in MedCare sponsored events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Required Skills and Knowledge: Minimum level of education, skills and abilities necessary in performing the job.

Education:

  • Associates or bachelor's degree

Certification / Licensure / Regulation:

  • Valid state Driver’s License in state were resided

Prior Experience:

  • Prior sales marketing experience in a related field or equivalent knowledge.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Functional Skills on PC and Related Software (Microsoft Office)
  • Knowledge of basic Office Equipment such as copier, fax machine, etc.
  • Strong leadership ability, independent thinking and decision-making ability; analytical problem-solving skills, sound judgment; excellent oral and written communication skills, must be able to function in a team environment.
