Founded in 1995, Rx3 Compounding Pharmacy was established on a few simple philosophies: employ highly trained and certified staff, produce only the highest quality products possible, and treat each patient like family.
We currently have an opening for a Medical Sales Representative and looking for a strong partner that will help us continue to grow and provide exceptional service.
Overview:
Our compounding pharmacy specializes in hormone therapy, pain management, thyroid supplementation, urology and veterinary compounding to name a few. The marketing and sales representative works closely with management and operations in developing strategies that are designed to grow market share, boost revenues and increase the understanding of compounding and its benefits to doctors/patients. This person will develop relationships with medical professionals, host community events, attend trade shows, medical conferences and other types of events as needed. In addition they will track prescribing trends, participate in developing marketing materials and communicate opportunities to management.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Works with management to develop and implement a territory detailing plan that outlines strategies and tactics to maximize opportunities, increase sales and meet strategic objectives.
- Manage a sales territory consisting of designated healthcare targets including physicians, healthcare organizations and their patients.
- Identify medical professionals that will benefit from compounding. Introduce the pharmacy to medical practices; gauge current awareness & utilization of compounding.
- Develop relationships with practices currently using compounded medications so the pharmacy becomes a primary resource for their practices and patients.
- Set appointments to speak with practitioners.
- Build relationships with practitioners through office calls, follow-up calls, in-service presentations, etc.
- Track practitioners’ prescription writing habits and target follow-up communications appropriately.
- Identity and capitalize on opportunities for new business through community events, medical conventions, health fairs, etc. (on an as needed basis).
- Educate the community about compounding through speaking engagements, distributing printed informational pieces and participation in community events, etc.
- Communicate effectively with medical practitioners & staff members.
- Answer and direct questions from customers to pharmacist, operations personnel and sales management.
- Complete forms with customer information accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Assist providers and patients in the prescription process.
- Daily driving within a defined territory.
- Attend area networking functions to represent the Pharmacy.
- Communicate with co-workers and be an active participant in the team’s efforts to deliver exemplary customer service and grow the business.
- Develop marketing materials appropriate for our practice.
Successful applicants for this position Must Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or healthcare focus preferred
- 3+ years of sales experience in a healthcare or wellness related industry
- Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Salesforce
- Comfortable speaking in public or to groups
- Knowledge and experience with digital or event marketing
- Excellent problem-Solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Baseline knowledge of Virginia’s medical practice landscape and healthcare industry
- Previous experience with pharmaceutical compounding preferred
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance
- Self-motivator
- Adaptability
- Integrity
- Interest in lifestyle and integrative medicine a plus

Travel Occasional overnights and weekends
