We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of PVC Account Manager.
The Dallas, TX based account manager will work from their home office and will report directly to the Oxy Vinyls sales manager. Principal activities include in-depth customer and prospect coverage through regular sales calls and written correspondence. Account development is accomplished through coordination of Oxy Vinyls’ headquarters, plant, technical and regional personnel. This position requires moderate travel away from home, including entertainment activities, trade show attendance, and OxyChem/Oxy Vinyls representation at collegiate career fairs.
Essential Job Duties
- Product Line: the account manager will possess a working knowledge of Oxy Vinyls’ entire PVC product line, targeted PVC applications, PVC market trends, and could have a modest number of more complex/competitive PVC product sales.
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM): the account manager will require selling at multiple levels within an account’s organization. The account manager will be expected to manage and maintain relationships with their account’s purchasing, finance, logistics, manufacturing, sustainability leadership and senior management teams. The account manager will be expected to facilitate business meetings with Oxy Vinyls corporate busines managers and customers.
- Timely Communications: the account manager will submit timely paperwork including call/trade reports, weekly customer/itinerary updates, and rolling three-month PVC customer forecasts.
- Contracts/Negotiations: the account manager will be the primary negotiator for customer contracts. The PVC contracts will largely resemble standard commercial agreements with Oxy Vinyls boiler plate legal terms and conditions.
- Entertainment/Event Planning: the account manager will coordinate small outings and basic customer entertainment (dinners, lunches, golf, and other events).
- Customer Relations Representative (CRR): the account manager will work closely with their assigned CRR to routinely review customer orders/pricing and manage customer complaints.
- Territory Sales Volume: the account manager will generally manage PVC accounts ranging from less than 1MM pounds per year up to 15MM pounds per year.
- Account Size: The territory will consist mainly of small and mid-size accounts as well as developments of target accounts. A larger account would be in the $10MM per year range.
- B.S. degree in Sales Management, Marketing, Business Management or Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of sales or equivalent experience preferred.
- Position requires travel away from home, customer entertainment, and industry event attendance.
- Motivated self-starter with a high degree of initiative and strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience in sales processes and contract negotiations.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple assignments, and meet short-term deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills to manage multimillion-dollar sales geography.
- Responsible for management of accounts and extensive prospect list.
- Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to relocate in the future.
