Your responsibilities and tasks:
The Regional Sales Manager (“RSM”) is responsible for maintaining and generating new business for GEA’s Pharmaceutical technology as established in its broad range of equipment and systems, including but not limited to Biopharma Liquid Processing, Lyophilization, Spray Drying, Fluid Bed Processing, Potent Material Containment, and Tablet Presses. The RSM will accomplish this by developing professional business relationships with pharmaceutical executives, production managers, operators, and process engineers in a consultative selling role. The RSM will identify, qualify, log and pursue leads and opportunities while gathering and communicating market intelligence. The RSM will coordinate and manage the flow of pre-sale information between the GEA North America entity, GEA’s Core Technology Centers in Europe and the customer. The RSM is the customer advocate within GEA, while balancing the Order Intake and Profit requirements of GEA.

Your responsibilities and tasks:
- Seek out business by visiting and presenting GEA’s position in the pharmaceutical industry to new customers, as well as visiting existing customers and maintaining relationships with them. Follow-up with written trip reports.
- Work closely with customers and GEA SMEs in a problem-solving mode where GEA’s pharmaceutical technologies (granulation, compression, materials handling, continuous OSD production, spray drying, lyophilization and liquid processing) bring benefit to the customer.
- Acquire sales and market intelligence on issues such as competition, price, and project status.
- Handle telephone and written inquiries and aggressively follow up in a timely manner throughout the sales process until final determination of customer action.
- Assist with the set-up and fully participate in trade shows as assigned.
- Negotiate secrecy agreements, terms of payment and conditions of sale.
- Routinely update and add to the SAP C4C CRM to reflect current developments in customer opportunities
Your profile and qualifications:
Your profile:
- Four-year degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or equivalent technical degree required.
- 5 years (preferred) of business development and sales experience.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively communicate technical information in English (both written and verbal).
- Good knowledge of pharmaceutical processing equipment, FDA regulations and standards such as cGMP, ISPE, USP, etc.
- Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team setting as well as independently.
- Detail oriented and demonstrated ability to provide timely feedback to both internal and external customers.
- Willingness to travel (up to 70%), as business development and sale assignments and industry functions require.
- Proficiency in MS Office products, with knowledge of SAP CRM programs.
