Position: Wedding & Event Venue Sales Manager
Pay: Base Plus Commission.
- Average Sales should make $60K.
- Good Salesperson should Make $80K.
- Stellar Salesperson should make $100K+!

Hours: Full Time.
- The more time you put in, the more you get out.
- After your training is complete, you will be allowed a Flexible Schedule to work leads and give tours Monday - Saturday around our event schedule.
- Must work 3 Saturdays per month to give tours.
Reports to: Director of Sales
Experience: 5+ years of sales experience. Experience in hospitality is a plus!
Description:
As a Venue Sales Manager at Market Hall & The Grove at City Market you will have a key role in attracting new clients to our historic, busy, and newly renovated wedding and event venues in the heart of downtown Raleigh! We provide a high-end custom experience for our Wedding & Event clients with a luxury venue and culinary experience provided by our team of Event Professionals. What we are looking for:
- For you to embrace our brand, recognize our quality, and sell high-ticket wedding and event packages to high-end clients!
- A foodie who loves to talk about food, wine, beer and liquor. We don’t just sell our venue, but also our in-house catering service. Tasting, understanding and selling our high-end food and beverage packages is necessary for your success!
- We need someone who is coachable and decisive; a person who takes action! We’ll help you reach your goals, but good salespeople are self-motivated.
- Be on brand during all your communications across phone, text, and email; a positive and effusive attitude is required in a good salesperson.
- Our large venue is well suited for both big weddings and large corporate functions, we need to book both to be successful, so we need you to be excited to sell both.
- City Market’s Historic Downtown Raleigh location is part of who we are, knowing what is going on in and around Downtown Raleigh will help you sell our downtown venue!
**This is not a wedding planner position. We assist clients with planning from a venue and catering perspective. We require all wedding clients to hire, at a minimum, a Day-Of Coordinator to manage their vendors and execute their event. Please provide a resume with experience and a minimum of two references.
Duties: (not all inclusive)
- Presents self and company in a professional way with casual business attire, on trend language and ideas, and with a positive and hospitable attitude.
- Identifies market potential by qualifying incoming leads for weddings, socials and corporate events.
- Identifies new avenues for company growth and brand awareness, especially on social media platforms.
- Initiates sales process by scheduling appointments; making initial presentation via tours; understanding account requirements including venue, food and beverage needs. .
- Closes sales by building rapport with potential accounts; explaining product and service capabilities; overcoming objections; preparing contracts.
- Works to smoothly hand off booked contracts to other Account Managers and the Operations Manager to understand the client needs and exceed expectations.
- Expand sales in existing accounts (upsells) by introducing all our products and services at tastings and other planning meetings.
- Work with the Culinary Team to continue to respond to client feedback about menu options and pricing.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities including networking events and conferences.
- Willing to jump in and help them team on busy event days where needed!

Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
