Full description of the position

Overview:
As an Account Manager/ Automation & Liquid Handling Sales Specialist at Waters, your responsibilities include driving sales of the award-winning Andrew+ pipetting robot and growing awareness of the Waters Automation portfolio in your assigned geography. As part of this, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a strategic sales plan that drives growth of our full range of automation products and services. In addition to having a proven track record in sales, the desired candidate should be driven, dynamic, a fast learner, an avid networker, and a solid communicator. The ideal candidate will need to be capable of thinking strategically and executing the tactical implementation of programs.
Responsibilities:
  • Penetrate key accounts in the Biotech, Pharma, Academic, Clinical, and Forensic spaces
  • Proactively manage the sales funnel and maximize conversion of leads to created opportunities to closed orders
  • Present and sell Andrew+ pipetting robot and associated products and solutions
  • Manage sales revenue targets for the territory which will be a mixture of instrument unit sales, accessories, software, and service sales
  • Continuous sales funnel management (leads, opportunities, won/lost), accurate sales forecasting, and effective CRM utilization and maintenance
  • Actively explore the market potential for the automation of applications in a new or diverse range of subject areas. Projects will range from simple standalone solutions to complex multi-instrument projects.
  • Arrange and deliver seminars and instrument demonstrations
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in life sciences or chemistry)
  • Strong knowledge of life sciences research space

Experience:
  • Proven ability to prospect and negotiate to successfully close sales
  • Technical knowledge and practical solution selling experience, ideally an understanding of liquid handling and/or automation systems within the laboratory environment
  • Experience in selling into the laboratory environment

Skills:
  • Highly passionate and energetic individual with charisma, perseverance, and determination
  • Effectively work in competitive sales situations
  • Customer-focused with excellent listening and discovery skills
  • Ability to maximize product visibility and raise awareness through in-person events and digital exposure (through webinars, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a hands-on attitude
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex technical concepts
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to contribute as part of an integrated sales/service organization
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to set priorities/manage time effectively
  • Fluency in English in speaking and writing is a must; any additional language skill is a plus
