ABOUT THE COMPANY

Sizzling Platter is a restaurant management group and we currently operate more than 650 restaurants across the United States and Mexico. We were founded in 1963 with just a small number of sit-down restaurants and over the last 50+ years we have built a strong restaurant platform focused on adding and scaling leading brands in outstanding restaurant markets. Our Support Center is located Murray, Utah and we are looking for talented people to join our team in supporting the 11,000+ team members who operate our restaurants. JOB DETAILS

The Property Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for fixed asset and lease accounting. Additional responsibilities with general accounting duties, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis. This position also provides accounting services to the Operations teams and Corporate Support teams which requires customer service focus and strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Account for Real Estate leases under ASC 842
• Manage and review occupancy journal entries and accruals
• Manage fixed assets including depreciation, disposals and transfers
• Prepare fixed asset roll forwards and ad hoc reports
• Update schedules and prepare ad hoc reporting for lease activity
• Monitor and report on R&M expenses
• Account reconciliations
• Participate in period end closing functions that include reviewing general ledger accounts and financial statements
• Create and maintain advanced spreadsheets
• Research and solve problems and discrepancies
• Review your own work prior to submission
• Provide assistance to the Accounting department, Operations, and Corporate support teams
• Communicate effectively and professionally
• General accounting duties as needed
• Back up other team members in their areas and responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Minimum of Bachelor of Accounting
• Masters preferred
• CPA a plus

Experience / Skills:

• 5 years accounting experience, preferably in a high transaction volume environment
• Thorough knowledge of accounting, including the chart of accounts, debits and credits, preparing journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Knowledge of lease language and ability to interpret same
• Technical accounting including fixed assets, lease accounting, capital expenditures, accounting of prepaids, and accruals
• Previous experience with general ledger systems, NetSuite a plus
• Ability to solve problems and present resolutions
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• High level attention to detail
• Flexible and adaptable to change
• Excel proficiency – lookups, pivots, sumifs
• Ability to foster and maintain business and client relationships
• Customer focus with timely follow through
• Knowledge of business-level English, both verbal and written
