Full description of the position

Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a Store Manager at our Mobile, AL location who thrives when working with others and solving problems. Customer service is our business, and we must exceed our customers' expectations. We do this by listening, asking questions, researching, and then offering a solution. Our Store Managers lead a retail location and team through daily operations, assisting in-store and commercial customers, and coaching and developing team associates. Daily you will be working with Smartphones, Batteries, Bulbs, and other products that need to be tested and repaired. Additional duties included: recruiting, hiring, coaching associates, answering phones, completing reports, inventory control, and growing commercial customer base. This role pays from $43,000 - $46,000 annually + Bonuses.


Manager Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Minimum H.S. diploma or GED required. Degree in business or retail management preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of retail management and supervisory experience.
  • Experience in commercial (outside) sales is desirable.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Able to effectively manage confrontational situations in a controlled and courteous manner. Speaks clearly and effectively in a variety of settings.
  • Ability to calculate simple math, percentages, and ratios. A basic understanding of accounting procedures and financial statements is necessary.
  • Strong technical aptitude, and a basic understanding of electronics including the ability to accurately read gauges and work with hands.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to become forklift certified, if applicable.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business including peak seasons and special events. This includes the ability to work at multiple store locations, as needed.
  • Cell phone with voice plan for work-related purposes on an incidental, but necessary basis (25% or less)


Physical Requirements / Work Environment

The physical demands required to perform the essential responsibilities of this position are as follows. Reasonable accommodations, if necessary and/or as required by law, will be made available.

  • The level of noise in the working environment is moderate.
  • Protective clothing and/or equipment used in this position includes goggles, gloves, and steel-toed shoes.
  • This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk and use hands to handle or touch. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; and occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach above shoulders, and lift more than 50 pounds.
  • The position requires the employee to regularly use electrical cables, simple hand tools, a magnifying glass, automotive and electronic testing equipment, as well as regular use of a phone, fax, computer, and printer/copier.


Store Manager Duties:

  • Ensure commercial and retail selling programs and promotions are demonstrated, taught, and executed.
  • Generate leads for commercial customers through in-store prospecting and telemarketing
  • Provide service and follow-up to commercial customers at acceptable service levels
  • Load, drive, and make deliveries, or arrange deliveries via third-party delivery companies.
  • Personnel Management
  • Develop and supervise Assistant Managers and Store Associates
  • Provide training, coaching, development, and recognition
  • Perform timely evaluations and implement progressive discipline
  • Develop team for future roles
  • Demonstrate, train, and enforce all safety rules and regulations and company policies
  • Manage Repair Center performance, quality, and turn-around times.


Operations Management:

  • Demonstrate and require a customer-first mentality.
  • Schedule staffing based on the needs of the business within budgeted limits.
  • Oversee activities of the Assistant Manager to ensure standards are met for merchandising, presentation, inventory management, loss prevention, safety, corporate reporting, and facility management.
  • Understand and manage controllable, and address deficiencies. Identify and implement actions to control costs.
  • Delegate tasks, validate completion, and ensure policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Function as a leader by acting in an influential and persuasive manner. At the same time, be a team player and individual contributor to attaining company goals.
  • Complete all the Quest modules pertaining to device repair and manage the talent necessary to have an adequate number of device repair experts at the store. Device Repair Certification may be necessary for the Store Manager depending upon the needs of the individual store.
  • Manage the flow of devices using the Work Order Management System.
  • Perform timely evaluations and implement progressive discipline.
  • Recruit, interview, select and hire as needed.
