SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Sales and Events Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the sale of event venues and the planning and execution of special events at the Garden.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

Provides a signature guest experience through outstanding customer service.

Sells and contracts rental of event venues.

Hosts site visits to potential rental clients.

Provides support to Event Services Manager for large-scale events

Responds to guest inquiries within one business day.

Answers Sales Office phone when Sales Ambassador is not available.

Plans, budgets and coordinates the Gardens special events throughout the year.

Provide logistical support to the development team for the annual Gala.

Maintains knowledge of Garden programs and events.

Develops, maintains and promotes positive and professional relationships with internal staff, volunteers, members, vendors, contractors, media and the general public in order to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

Assists and performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to demonstrate the San Antonio Botanical Gardens Core Values; Conservation, Education, Inclusion, Innovation, and Stewardship.
Requires some event planning or coordination experience. A bachelors degree is preferred or equivalent work experience.

Bi-lingual or multi-lingual is a plus.

Communicate well with guests in person, by phone, and by email. Remain polite, courteous, and helpful at all times.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Ability to successful pass a criminal background check.

Evenings, weekend and/or holiday work may be required to deliver programs or to provide staff support to events.

Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, crouching or light lifting (up to 50 lbs).

Prolonged periods of standing, walking or delivering programs in varying environmental conditions.

Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the individual.
