The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the sales process from order through shipment. This position maintains client orders and creates invoices, identifies and addresses client service issues and assists with general office support. Acts as the primary customer service contact for clients who have questions about their orders.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

Job Duties:

• Enters orders into the ERP system and modifies or deletes as required.
• Handles the processing of all orders with accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintains contact with client through the stages of the sales process, including providing after- sales support when requested.
• Responds to all general customer inquiries by determining material availability, conformance to customer requirements, quoting prices, and providing a reasonable delivery commitment designed to obtain the customer's order or expanded order.
• Initiates phone calls to customers and potential customers to solicit purchase of inventory/stock or to follow-up previously quoted business opportunities.
• Handles customer calls relating to complaints on orders by investigating the basis of complaint, referring problems to appropriate personnel, recommending action to rectify problems, and following up to ensure resolution.
• Cultivates strong product and market knowledge, as well as knowledge of the customer’s business and end use of material.
• Performs other related work as assigned.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

• High School Diploma required, an Associates’ Degree or some college is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Skills and Experience

• 2 years experience as Sales Support Specialist preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Positive attitude and integrity
• Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Intermediate experience with Excel is critical
• Excellent organizational and planning skills and attention to detail
• Superior problem- solving skills
• The ideal candidate will have a history of demonstrating flexibility, resilience and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
