Position Information

Title: Technology Consultant

Reports To: Consulting Manager

Starting Pay:

• If hired as Tier 1: $20-$25 per hour
• If hired as Tier 2: $23-30 per hour

Location: Auburn, WA 98001

Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt

The Technology Consultant role is the embodiment of the service Puget systems provides for its customers. That service is to provide factual, unbiased and transparent information to customers. Customers then use that information to make informed decisions, with the optimal – but not required – outcome being the purchasing of a computer from Puget Systems.

Customer Service Responsibilities

• Supplies customers with information about currently available computer hardware technology.
• Translates how that technology can be most effectively deployed in the customer’s specific work.
• Explains complex technical information to customers in a way that is easily understandable.
• Facilitates a smooth purchase and delivery of the customer’s computer system.
• Handles video conferencing, phone calls, and email from clients and potential customers.
• Updates records of customer communications and contact information.
• Manages records information via HubSpot, Dialpad, and our proprietary orders interface
• Handles tax exemption documentation.
• Does basic technical support troubleshooting.
• Takes orders over the phone.
• Handles PO purchasing and wire transfer purchasing.
• Logs calls and Zoom meetings.
• Greets and assists customers with local pickup.
• Other duties as assigned.

Desired Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1+ years of customer service experience preferred
• Familiarity with latest technology and trends
• CRM experience preferred but not required

Required Skills/Abilities

• Compassion and overall people skills - You can provide advice to a novice and then flip the switch and talk to someone extremely technical.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• The ability to work independently but also in a team.
• Excellent presentation skills and a professional appearance.
• Have the capacity to be flexible, multitask and arrange goals while keeping a high degree of focus and precision is required.
• Familiar with standard shipping methods via UPS and FedEx as well as freight shipping.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Patience and calm demeanor.
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills and use new types of information.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
• Able to work from home or office.
