Full description of the position

Job Description:

The Chicago Marriott O’Hare is looking for a Group Sales Manager to join our team! Previous Hotel Sales Manager experience preferred.

Overview:

The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for sales process for assigned groups and supporting the sales team to achieve the overall success of the operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the sales process for assigned groups and effectively guide customers through their event experiences.
  • Maximize revenue opportunity for assigned customers by creating effective strategies for event revenue growth, including upsell and cross sell opportunities.
  • Drive results by soliciting and securing business through a proactive, consultative sales approach.
  • Identify solutions that meet customer goals and objectives, and utilize all available tools to ensure maximum event and revenue capture from assigned customer base.
  • Thoroughly research and understand customer history and previous experiences.
  • Understand event cost structure and incorporate into solution designs according to established profitability guidelines.
  • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and other planning meetings, as necessary to support the customer event experience.
  • Effectively collaborate with vendors and other departments to capture and service events.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationship with key hotel personnel to enhance the overall business relationship with the hotel.
  • Serve as a resource for large, high-end event production in the venue location.
  • Supports company initiatives, business strategies and core values.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Strategic thinker, problem solver, multi-tasker, and an excellent communicator, both verbal and written.
  • Superb time management skills with the ability to prioritize a multitude of projects while staying organized.
  • Reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2-3 years progressive experience in hotel sales management.
  • Marriott Hotels systems training such as ci/ty preferred.

Availability:

  • Must be available to work days and weekends, as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
