Job Summary:
The Sales Tax Manager assists in the development, implementation, and administration of various corporate financial and general accounting policies with an emphasis on sales/use tax and income tax.

Overall Responsibility:

• Prepare or assist in the preparation of multi state sales/use tax returns and income tax returns.
• Provide guidance on proper sales/use tax treatment at bid, contract award and execution stage.
• Correspond with various state agencies, management, suppliers and customers during State Sales/Use tax audits.
• Prepare or assist with federal and state income tax return.
• Participate in all internal audits.
• Ensure all tax records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
• Provide recommendations and assist in implementation of efficient and cost-effective solutions to business and financial problems.
• Contact management, operations, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and other departments to ensure the accuracy of information and resolve discrepancies.
• Complete tasks, reporting and reconciliations associated with fixed assets, general ledger, journal entries, job costing, billings, and treasury as needed.
• Prepare special reports and complete other projects as needed.
• Occasional travel by automobile and/or air travel with overnight stays.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or Audit, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least five years of accounting experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Texas Sales Tax rules/regulations for contractors, manufacturers, and service providers.
• Experience with one or more accounting software systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize assignments, modify schedules, and alter the sequence of steps as necessary to obtain desired results.
• Data input with a high degree of accuracy.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to make sound recommendations based on analysis of data.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of all data.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
• Should possess good interpersonal and communicative skills.
• Must be able to lead a team toward successfully accomplishing team and company goals.
• Must have a customer focused mindset.
• CPA certification (preferred).
• Knowledge of multi-state sales/use tax and income tax rules/regulations (preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
