WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Lead seismic/fire protection sales in Northern California and the NW US while working with CADDY sales teams in electrical, mechanical, fire protection, datacom in the commercial building industry to grow revenue performance and profitability.
- Drive sales growth and expansion through technical value sales approach with end-users, design institutes/consulting companies and other specifying engineers, with emphasis on technical advantages and labor savings of new products and services.
- Closely collaborate with marketing team and product specialists to identify industry and regional opportunities and determine appropriate sales models and methods to support market growth.
- Actively communicate competitive feedback and market dynamics internally to help further improve solution selling and market messages.
- Act as voice of customer liaison the field and support functions; collaborate with various business functions to assure direction on products, processes, and strategies.
- Lead key relationships within managed markets to drive growth with distributors and contractors (end users), and engineers.
- Regularly conduct commercial and technical training to end users, agents, distributors, and other key partners.
YOU HAVE:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or applicable experience in technical sales (engineering or technical field preferred)
- Ideally proven experience in technical outside sales and/or territory management
- Direct experience with electrical, mechanical, HVAC, data com, fire protection, or seismic bracing products preferred
- Application engineering and product application a plus
- Familiarity with commercial building industry and codes (International building codes, ASCE, and NFPA codes), as well as an understanding of the seismic market preferred
- Experience working with a CRM, specifically Salesforce, and internal sales programs
- Ability to create and implement sales plans aligned with the division’s strategic vision
- Effective communicator at the field installer, technical and leadership levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills, and ability to understand information and ideas as presented.
- Strong PC skills including MS Office Suite and enterprise software as well as evaluate, recommend, and use group specific software tools.
- Proven achievement in sales, business development or product management
- Ability to work from home office and to travel within the region ~60% of the time on average

Pay Transparency
nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of total target cash pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Total target cash is comprised of an employee’s base salary and sales incentive target opportunity. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
This position is posted in multiple locations and as such, the expected job-based pay scale may vary based on the location per the table below:
- US Standard: $ 79,100.00 - $146,900.00
- Redwood City California: $94,900.00 - $176,300.00
