Knowbility is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to ensure digital equity for people with disabilities. Knowbility achieves this through education, awareness, and advocacy. Since 1999, Knowbility has worked with and trained thousands of businesses, schools and government agencies, and nonprofit organizations to make their websites, applications, and other digital communication materials accessible. All programs and services are intentionally designed with the goal of bringing digital information to people with disabilities.

Job Summary

The Business Development Director is responsible for developing new business opportunities that will enable Knowbility to expand and strengthen client relationships. They will work closely with teams to recommend products and services, as well as assist in achieving long-term goals of the organization and increase company revenue. The Director will establish client relationships, set goals for staff, and analyze data for further development strategies. They should also demonstrate understanding and commitment to Knowbility’s mission of digital equity for disabled people. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, persuasive, and demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop an in-depth knowledge of Digital Accessibility Services offered by Knowbility.
• Evaluate existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building on what works and changing what doesn’t.
• Assess business risks by analyzing financial, statistical, and economic data.
• Fulfill requests for proposals (RFPs) from potential partners and customers.
• Research emerging trends and recommend new offerings to meet customers’ needs.
• Manage key client and vendor relationships, while working to build new ones.
• Expand the profile and reach of the organization and its programs by identifying and developing new business opportunities.
• Propose and develop strategic partnerships.
• Help direct development of customer-facing web platforms and digital experiences.
• Travel to vendor locations and select prospective vendors and negotiate contracts.
• Foster and work to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions.
• Identify and recommend new services.
• Identify sponsorship opportunities, including nonprofit engagement.
• Conduct webinars and presentations to raise the organization’s profile.
• Attend meetings with clients and advisors as needed.
• Other duties as needed.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field.
• MBA a plus
• 5-10 years’ sales or marketing experience
• 3-5 years’ supervisory or management experience

Compensation and Benefits:

• $72,000-$80,000 based on education and experience.
• Health, vision, dental, and life insurance coverage provided at no cost to the employee beginning the first day of the month following hire date

Pay: $72,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
