As a Business Development Assistant II, you will review, prioritize, track actions, and resolve complex issues in support of H-E-B's Business Development Managers (BDMs).

What is the work?
Administration:

• Ensures products are competitively priced, meeting price image and financial objectives as directed by the BDM

- Executes consistent pricing strategies for BDM in communication materials / branding throughout pricing programs, processes, policies, and other H-E-B initiatives

• Manages data entry of cost and retail relationships to support marketing and merchandising strategies
• Develops templates / processes to track category performance and / or run category reports
• Identifies, researches, and resolves issues with no BDM involvement

- Manages implementation of mid- to-large pricing projects and initiatives

• Represents BDM in meetings (note taking, presenting updates, clarifying, notifying BDM of priority action steps)
• Creates promotional product surveys for promotional events including forecasting, store allocation
• Executes promotional event tasks, including coupons, PI tracking, and OMS offers
• Executes broker's functions when no broker exists (e.g., secure product samples)
• Coordinates test sets
• Supports BDM
• Drafts communications / presentations
• Recommends solutions to process problems
• Develops / coordinates agenda and travel itinerary for key BDM supplier or retail visit trips
• Manages new item submission and setup process after items have been selected by BDM, including eCommerce
• Assists in assortment decisions and new item placements
• Provides input / makes recommendations on new events, promotions, and ad language

Analytics:

• Performs in-depth analysis for supplier negotiation
• Makes recommendations based on analysis
• Analyzes, generates, and compiles support documentation for meetings and / or budgeting, and for category-level financial analysis
• Conducts post-event analysis

What is your background?

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or related field, or comparable experience
• 3+ years of experience in business, merchandising / procurement, or store operations
• Working knowledge / experience in systems, process, and analysis
• Working knowledge and experience in the product information data flow
