Due to their strong reputation, quality and increased market demand, a well-known, design-forward manufacturer of premium interior surfacing products has an immediate need for an experienced Territory Manager based in the Northeastern US region. While our client currently has a developed customer account base and a book of active projects within the region, this is a newly defined position with primary territorial coverage concentrated in/around the major urban centers of Oregon, Washington State & Northern California.

Based in either the Greater Portland or Seattle area, the Territory Manager, Commercial Surfacing Sales (A&D Specification) will be responsible for driving Specification Sales with both the Architect & Designer Specifier community, as well as partnering with key commercial fabricators and OEM's to service existing relationships, and strengthen and grow an ongoing pipeline of sales opportunities for their exclusive product range. This position will concentrate on driving presence and the volume of projects within the territory by building relationships with A&D firms/practices and related fabricators/end users to promote and influence product specification and selection.

Candidates based in either the Greater Portland or Greater Settle area will be required to do approximately 25 - 30% travel in this role.

Main Responsibilities/ Duties:
  • Develop business relationships with A&D specifiers and key Fabricators to influence and maintain product specifications. (Focus weight approx. 70% Specification Sales / 30% Fabricator & End User)
  • Promote and educate both established and prospective accounts on the capabilities and overall product information via meetings, lunch and learns, PK sessions.
  • Update material libraries and showrooms with up to date samples and product marketing materials.
  • Visit End Users when required and promote the features and benefits of the product range and create channel demand.
  • Provide professional sales and technical service/advice to customers.
  • Achieve set sales targets for the direct sale of the company’s products to existing and new accounts.
  • Professionally address and resolve complaints or issues in relation to services/materials supplied by the company with the assistance of the sales leadership.
  • Establish/develop accounts to ensure that the company is maximizing potential.
  • Manage Forecasted Sales / Project list monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Facilitate CEU sessions with clients.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Prior experience generating commercial specifications.
  • Prior experience working with fabricators or end-users.
  • Knowledgeable and able to generate/secure/close business in a consultative manner.
  • Technical background in architecture, engineering, interior design, millwork design, Kitchen & bath sales, fabricator sales or related would be advantageous.
  • Able to demonstrate achievement of selling/winning/holding specifications with specifiers and end users.
  • Excellent communication, strong interpersonal skills, strong listener, ability to problem solve, strong presentation, organized.
  • Must hold a valid drivers license and be able to clear pre-employment screening.
