Summary
The Assistant Director of Sales is an experienced senior level hotel sales role that reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing. This is the perfect role for someone who wants to transition into a Director of Sales and Marketing role, in a luxury lifestyle hotel.
Responsibilities include co-managing and co-leading the sales staff as well as managing select key accounts.
The ADOS responsibilities include but are not limited to mentoring and training sales staff, recruitment and hiring of sales staff, leading sales meetings, involvement with the annual business plan process, forecasting, owners meetings, report analysis, P&L management, business travel and tradeshows, customer entertainment, community involvement and networking. This position may be required to serve as Director in the absence of the Director of Sales of Marketing.
Ideal start date for this role would be between March 1 – March 15, 2023.

Duties include:
- Work closely with the DOSM to assist with assigned projects and support hotel strategic and tactical sales plans and pricing efforts.
- Responsible for generating and achieving group, business transient, and room rental revenue goals through the development and solicitation of business from all assigned markets to ensure a successful and profitable operation for the hotel as well as assisting the team in achieving yearly goals.
- Achieve optimal occupancy and ADR to maximize total revenue while meeting/exceeding hotel profit objectives through active solicitation of new sales accounts whilst developing, entertaining, and maintaining relationships with existing accounts.
- Stay on top of property financial performance relative to budget and forecast by compiling and/or directing the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department to include, but not limited to monthly/quarterly forecast, group booking pace report, and star reports.
- Develop and create exciting and unique site visits and presentations to prospective clients to accompany creative proposals.
- Provide strategic direction of rate, date and space commitments for group room sales.
- Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry, current market trends, and economic factors to detect development of new marketing strategies.
- Organize and/or attend scheduled sales department and related meetings.
- Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events.
- Capitalize on utilizing brand promotions, marketing, sales programs and resources.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- A minimum of 3-5 years of previous progressive hotel sales experience
- Fluent in both group and corporate transient sales markets
- Experience in an upscale or luxury boutique hotel is preferred
- Supervisory experience with the ability to train and monitor the process of sending referrals, setting traces and qualifying accounts
- Excellent analytical, sales and negotiating skills with an established history of driving results
- Outstanding customer relations, communication, presentation, and organizational skills are of utmost importance
- Must possess the following strengths: high energy, results driven, passion, motivational leader, effective and open communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
