Carpe Data is located in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. This role will be virtual and will incur regular travel (50%).

Responsibilities

  • Exceeds Quota/Ensures Predictable Revenue: develop and drive business opportunities in current and new business accounts to surpass the annual revenue target
  • Creates Account Strategies: Build and execute on account plans.
  • Product Mastery: Learns Carpe Data solutions inside and out and how they are best utilized by insurance carriers. There are no cookie-cutter deals; mastery of product use-cases allows the Sales Director to pitch the right product combinations at the right time.
  • Time Management/Priority Setting: Takes personal responsibility to identify and stay on the path to success (planning, forecasting, critical measures, reconnoitering, etc.). Optimize use of time to focus on, nurture, and close new business.
  • Vigilantly Communicates: Communicates account status, next steps, and concerns effectively and efficiently.
  • Utilizes Team Members: Knows when to utilize fellow team members to help with moving a deal toward closure.
  • Timely Updates of Sales Status: Utilize CRM in an accurate and timely manner. Accurate pipeline forecasting is critical to an Sales Director's success.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • BS or BA 5+ years of sales experience in data/SaaS/technology within P&C insurance domain
  • Experience closing $500K+ deals and hitting/exceeding quota of $2.5M+
  • The ability to thrive in a fast moving entrepreneurial environment with an ownership culture
  • Experience selling a complex, multi-solution offering with a lengthy (6-24 month) sales cycle
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Brings a strong understanding of business practices, industry trends, and competitors to each sales cycle
  • Strong communicator and storyteller comfortable communicating with c-level executives
  • The ability to effectively create and articulate customer value proposition and corresponding return on investment to maximize value to Carpe and customer
  • Organized & detail oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines and objectives

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level.
