Job Summary
The Senior Account Executive of Business Affairs is part of a cross-functional team supporting the group’s efforts in working with brands and celebrities, influencers, properties, sponsorships, and everything that comes along with that. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in negotiating commercial endorsement partnerships, and experience with SAG-AFTRA and FTC regulations. They should be familiar with the pop culture landscape and should understand legal issues relating to content creation, talent, influencers and intellectual property. In addition, the candidate must be able to work effectively in a complex environment with diverse stakeholders including senior management, operations, and legal counsel, brand and agency teams. We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, and a team player who thrives in fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Business Affairs
- Translation of brand business objectives and terms into contractual language
- Draft and negotiate a variety of influencer and celebrity service agreements, event sponsorship agreements, and licensing agreements from scope of work through to fully executed long form
- Draft and review agency scopes of work
- Act as a liaison between brand and their legal teams as well as talent/property legal teams
Compliance and Strategy
- Assist in managing a social media monitoring program for the purpose of complying with of FTC Endorsement Guides
- Work closely with account teams to ensure all talent contracts and campaigns adhere to SAG-AFTRA regulations
- Maintain familiarity with alcoholic beverage industry codes of responsible practices
- Ensure compliance with data privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA
- Manage talent vetting for potential campaigns and programs
- Advise and manage account teams’ music licensing initiatives, including negotiation, alignment with creative, and contract review
- Provide knowledge of cutting-edge tools and technology and insight into their use in influencer campaign management
- Deep understanding of social platform analytics tools, understanding of how they work and ability to translate the output as related to impacting business strategies and marketing efforts
Client Service/Administrative
- Assist in leading client communications
- Attend client calls and in-person meetings to align on appropriate legal points
- Maintain procurement trackers for talent payments, diversity, budget, etc. for reporting to client
- Manage database of talent assets, contacts, and information
Required Skills & Experience
- Passion & strong knowledge for Influencer Marketing and up to date on regulations, trends, best practices and innovations
- Strong knowledge of Influencers and pop-culture, including celebrities, athletes, musicians, hot platforms & shows, etc.
- Creative, flexible, and self-motivated, a positive, can-do, roll up your sleeves attitude. A true, team player that enjoys working collaboratively, as well as independently
- 2-4 years of legal/business affairs experience in-house at a media company, ad agency, talent agency or at a law firm including experience procuring talent & influencers for commercial endorsements, spokesperson roles, appearances, performances, music, and other IP licensing as well as sponsorships
- Experience interacting with brand and agency legal, finance, procurement, and account teams to help establish and balance the legal risks and business objectives
- Strong working knowledge of SAG-AFTRA and FTC regulations
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and negotiation skills with an emphasis on ability to explain legal and business issues to laypeople
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- JD or LLM degree or equivalent experience
Pay Range: $75,000-$120,000
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications and geographical location.
