Senior Group Sales Manager
* Manage accounts producing group business and to grow new accounts to enhance the database.
* To analyze every account with regard to additional business opportunities, need structure, decision and booking patterns.
* Identify prospective new accounts through market research.
* To monitor market trends and communicate these to the hotel.
* Regular competition analysis and feedback internally and to the hotel.
* Arrange and conduct customer sales presentations and sales calls on a weekly basis.
* Close co-operation with sales support in regard to general administration and office administration tasks.
* Follow Personal Sales Action Plans and updating on a regular basis where appropriate.
* Consistently meet or exceed all sales goals.
* Negotiate guest room rates, functions space and meeting room rental within approved guidelines.
* Promote teamwork and great service through great communication and coordination with other departments.
* Maintain accurate reporting of sales activities to DOSM by determined monthly report.
* To portray the highest possible standard of both personal and company image when representing the hotel
* To build up good relationships and develop partnerships with innovative and effective strategies
* To participate in all schedule’s sales events
* Position needs to assist DOSM in the development of various sales initiatives and monthly reporting.
Education: Four year college degree or equivalent education/experience required.
Experience: Five years hotel sales experience required. Must possess a proven track record of success in achieving revenue objectives; proven ability to recruit, motivate and train sales team.
Proficiency OnQ, R&I, SalesPro a plus
· Implement company/brand programs and manage the department operations in a manner consistent with established policies and procedures.
· Assist in developing, recommending, implementing and manage the department’s annual budget and business plans and actions.
· Develop and continually enhance relationship with internal and external customers, industry/community, organizations, peers, professional associations and the media.
· Survey, review and analyze competition, market trends, customer needs and comments in an effort to develop/modify new plans, actions and programs.
· Cultivate and source leads through cold calls, telemarketing, direct sales, sales blitzes, National Sales Office, networking, and other sources.
· Maintain rapport with competitor hotels, lead sources, clients, the City Convention and Visitors Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, and the local community.
· Attend community relations meetings.
· Establish and maintain close contact with Top and Target accounts through phone calls, tours, appointments, correspondence and entertainment. Assess future and current needs of the guest.

· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)
· Be readily available/approachable for all guests
· Ability to perform critical analysis.
· Ability to manage extensive amounts of information and provides constructive feedback/direction.
· Extensive knowledge of marketing, negotiating and sales procedures associated with the hotel industry.
· Excellent written skills sufficient to produce sales and marketing communication that properly reflects the IHR Image.
· Excellent spoken and presentation skills
· Considerable ability to listen effectively.
· Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team.
· Ability to delegate, manage and organize complex projects and establishes priorities consistent with department/hotel objectives.
· Ability to effectively deal with department heads, customers and team members, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
· Ability to manage multiple projects, meet and work effectively under time and resource constraints
· Follow proper Hotel safety policies and procedures and use safety equipment as needed to ensure the safety of all team members during each shift. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
· Working product knowledge of hotel facilities, capacities and room dimensions as well as to have same knowledge of competitive hotels.
· Working knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures.
· Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
· Ability to take initiative, to succeed under pressure and meet deadlines.
· Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up
· Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow team members and customers.
· Able to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high level of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts
· Assist DOSMin resolving guest complaints concerning the sales department.
· Know the hotel emergency policy and proper administration of issued keys.
· Attend sales meetings, training and other meetings requested DOSM
· Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. Able to work varied shifts, including Weekday, Evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Some lifting may be required.
Hours Required: Forty to fifty hours over a five day period; days and times may vary based on needs.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
