Outside Sales Representative - Crane Equipment Experience Preferred
This position will strive to market our capabilities to all job sites and companies that may have a need for our product lines. This opportunity provides the commission potential of up to $125,000 on top of hourly pay.
Essential Functions
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Sales & Marketing
- Develop and maintain a strong and positive customer relationship through timely and consistent communication with the customer in assigned territory.
- Actively pursue new market opportunities within territory and customer base.
- Achieve sales numbers, quotas and goals for assigned territory.
- Prepare and submit Reporting Tools spreadsheet which includes call reports, segment lists, quote status and leads.
- Follow up on all leads and quotes to maximize sales for assigned territory.
- Organize and maintain coverage of all job lead information.
- Maintain report of top jobs and lost jobs in assigned territory.
- Identify potential market opportunities and keep management apprised of all current aspects of the market.
- Communicate with management on quotes with deeper discounts.
- Continually study product lines to improve product knowledge
- Have complete knowledge of competitor's product lines.
- Represent the company at association events and attend all sales meetings.
Sales Administration
- Prepare and submit required reports in a clearly worded and timely manner. Provide pertinent customer end market information as required. This includes accurate quotations, complete orders for dispatch, credit polices are followed and complete and timely expense reports.
- Assist with customer disputes and account collection as needed.
Personnel
- Maintain, uphold and promote proper equipment care and maintenance of Company property.
- Develop and maintain Company internal relationships with peers, promote a team environment.
- Develop and maintain on-going relationships with field personnel to ensure smooth delivery of products/service and payment. This may include assisting in personnel issues, promoting personnel to customers, interacting with personnel and keeping personnel informed of any special requirements for the job.
- Maintain, uphold and promote proper equipment care and maintenance of Company property.
- Be present on job site for difficult jobs or potentially difficult jobs.
- Report any ideas to Operations Manager for upgrades to equipment which will increase efficiency for personnel and customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Safety
- Play an active role in the development of the safety culture, making safety a natural part of all work performed.
- Identify and report safety concerns.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform assigned duties in a safe manner.
Qualifications
- LOCAL Industry experience a must!
- Crane Experience Preferred.
- Minimum 5 years professional selling experience.
- Excellent communication skills in all forms including written, oral, email, telephone, and presentation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- A positive attitude to dealing with people.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with co-workers, customers, and management in a positive and objective manner.
- Ability to plan, schedule, and organize work priorities and objectives with minimal support or daily direction.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Reports to the Sales Manager.
