Job Descriptions: Sales Associate

Position Summary
Sales Associates are our direct connection to our customers and represent the store with every customer interaction.
You make the difference between a satisfied and dissatisfied customer. You are the lifeblood of the store and the workforce that keeps the store moving. Sales Associates are responsible for providing exceptional customer service and executing daily tasks assigned by Managers and Supervisors to reach goals and achieve store objectives. This includes customer service, merchandising, store maintenance, service execution, cashiering, as well as a variety of tasks required to operate the store daily. Sales Associates must make training and education a regular part of their work activities. Sales Associates must work in coordination with Supervisors and managers to execute daily tasks designed to facilitate the needs of store and enhance the shopping experience of our customers. Sales Associates must understand store’s purpose and goals and have the skills to help the stores achieve those goals.

Major Responsibilities
The major responsibilities for this position include:

• Regularly and properly execute the basic S.A.L.E.S. process. o Customers are the #1 priority
• Ensure that you are properly trained on all required aspects of store operations o See individual job description for full details o Actively seek out Supervisors and managers to complete training throughout the store.
• Report all concerns or incidents to management in a timely and satisfactory manner o Report these concerns to Supervisors and upper management as needed
• Work with Supervisors and Management team to accomplish store goals
• Manage customer needs and assist to the best of your ability o Make it your goal to Amaze Every Customer Every Time.
• Answer Phones per store policies and procedures o Answer all calls within 3 rings o Follow “Answering the Call to be Helpful” Guidelines o Respond to Associate Calls for Phone Assistance
• Execute basic register functions o Proper use of Epicor POS functions
• Returns & Exchanges
• MSU Sales
• Dump SKU Sales
• Coupons
• Gift Cards o Focus on Ace Rewards (ask if have and promote to sign up) o Follow all policies and procedures for overrides and returns

• Restock Merchandise as needed o Includes Truck Deliveries, Drop Ships, Go Backs, and Inventory Resets
• General ability to execute all store services including but not limited to: o Register o Special orders o Paint o Glass and Plexi Cutting o Propane o Rug Doctor Rental o Screen Repair (if Applicable) o Online Sales o Power Saws (if over 18) o Chain Cutting o By-The-Foot Sales o Hillman Sales o Home and standard auto Key Cutting
• Assist in inventory management functions as training and required by management. o Scanning outs o Cycle counts o Price change deployment
• Maintain store appearance and merchandising standards o Fronting and Facing o Dusting and sweeping o Restroom maintenance o Break Room maintenance
• Accept assignments from managers and Supervisors to achieve managerial provided goals
• Maintain awareness of all store promotions, events, and sales
• Build your product knowledge through Store approved educational outlets o Ace Learning place o Vendor Workshops o Vendor Websites o Approved Certification Programs o Additional Product Research
• Be proficient in all store technology (i.e., ACENET, Epicor, Deputy, RF Guns/ Handheld Devices, etc.)
• Assist with online sales processes

o Process, Verify, Pull, Deliver, and execute delivery of online sales items to customers.

• Follow all store safety and security policies and procedures
• Responsibly use all store technologies including Acenet, RF Guns, Handheld Devices, and 2-Way radios
• Assist in the training and development of your fellow Sales Associates
• Follow and comply with all Loss Prevention policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements
The minimum requirements for this position include:

• Education/Training: High School degree, or equivalent.
• Positive attitude is a must
• Possess or desire to learn a vast array of product knowledge of hardware related products.
• Experience: None or some retail or hardware related experience
• Skills/Knowledge: Strong work etic and desire to learn
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to be self-motivated
• Ability to handle multiple projects and task
• Knowledge of retail computer systems, Epicor, MS Word and Excel a plus.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
• Willingness to comply with all BOLI, OSHA, and other governmental regulatory agency guidelines.

Physical Requirements
The minimum physical requirements for this position include:

• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours
• Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to clearly communicate with others verbally
• Willingness to interact and work with people of a variety of backgrounds

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
