Title: Development and Marketing Manager
Dept/Program: Development
Reports to: Chief Development Officer
Status: Full-time, Exempt
The primary purpose of this position is to manage, coordinate and assist with conducting activities of fund development, marketing, and public relations. The Development and Marketing Manager coordinates and assists with resource development, donor stewardship of major gifts, planned giving, fundraising activities, special events, and volunteer management. Provides management and/or coordinates resource development, grant writing, major gifts, special events, marketing, communication, and public relations and supports programs and staff to acquire and maintain the resources they need to provide quality services. The Development and Marketing Manager provides print, digital marketing, and graphic design support to ensure that agency goals are met. Works closely with the Chief Development Officer to cultivate key donors and community partners to solicit major gifts and to provide high quality donor stewardship.
Compensation:
Salary for this position starts from a base of $55,000 - $60,000 yearly.
All agency positions are expected to meet the agency standards for attendance and punctuality, positive interactions with others, effective work habits, knowledge and skills, judgment and ethics. The specific expectations and essential duties of this position include:
- In partnership with Chief Development Officer and Development team, help develop and implement: an annual fundraiser, direct mail solicitations, special events, and other projects as necessary
- Demonstrate best practices in the fields of fund development, marketing and media relations, and volunteer management
- Oversees and manages timeline, responsible parties, and workflow for all agency printed fundraising and marketing materials, such as newsletter, annual report, bi-annual appeals, event programs and invitations, etc.
- Manages agency brand and brand guidelines
- Prepares graphic design including graphic support for program needs according to standard templates and timelines.
- Designs, orders, prints branded agency collaterals (mugs, pens, T-shirts, banners, posters, etc.).
- Maintains agency website (content prepared by programs and Development Department), including event registration.
- Responsible for workflow for digital marketing initiatives, including website, E blast, Power Points, etc.
- Provides PR, tabling, and event support to Chief Development Officer.
- Identify potential donors to special project funds and supporters of agency's operations through review and analysis of past records and individual and corporate contracts
- In collaboration with the Chief Development Officer, set annual goals for fund development through a combination of unrestricted fund raising, donor management, events, and major gifts
- Staff the development responsibilities of the Chief Development Officer, which includes focusing and prioritizing the Chief Development Officer's development-related time and duties, scheduling meetings with donors, and partnering on meetings with donors.
- Provide regular updates to Chief Development and Development Team on the progress of fund development goals
- Manage within the parameters of the agency budget and provide input on budget development and revisions
- Establish and track key indicators of the health of fund development
- Actively and effectively assist Chief Development Officer in successful grant solicitations and donor asks
- Identify and coordinate cultivation and solicitation opportunities that will stimulate and significantly grow prospects, existing individual, and institutional donations
- Ensure that all donor and grant related databases are used effectively. Create reports that accurately reflect donor activity and performance.
- Develop and implement systems to ensure accurate recordkeeping of donors and grants, and to ensure appropriate follow up
- In collaboration with the Chief Development Officer, provide management and coordination for any capital campaigns
- Oversee the development of public relations materials to enhance the agency image and promote fund raising programs and activities
- Coordinate an effective community relations and outreach plan, including best use of Chief Development Officer's time
- Work with senior leadership team and program managers to identify opportunities for funding and ongoing program development
- Support collection and reporting of agency outcomes data
- Provide supervision, training, coaching, planning and problem-solving assistance for all direct reports
- Participate in a positive, constructive and healthy work environment focused on learning and improvement
- Provide regular development reports to the Chief Development Officer
- Other duties as assigned

This position generally works weekday, daytime hours. In addition, some evenings or weekends are necessary to meet the needs of the position.
Qualifications: - One-year experience in grant writing and philanthropy.
- One-year non-profit experience
- One-year marketing experience
- Able to pass background check related to position requirements
- Strong communication and people skills. Effective interpersonal and communication abilities. The ability to communicate effectively and respectfully on the phone and in person with donors, board members, volunteers, staff and the general public.
- Ability to be clear and concise in written and verbal communications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and to meet deadlines.

- Since driving is frequently necessary to fulfill the job functions, a valid Arizona driver's license, reliable transportation, clean driving record and current auto insurance are strongly preferred
- Computer and technological skills necessary to maintain appropriate correspondence, enter and retrieve and analyze information in a database or spreadsheet, use agency email, use social media, and locate information on internet
- Experience with Publisher
- Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge a plus
Physical Requirements
This position requires prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Work Environment
