Description
Vice President, Worldwide Sales Engineering
Our Worldwide Sales Engineering team is key to our success in selling solutions to our entire customer base including enterprises, service providers and public sector globally. We are committed to attracting and retaining first class Sales Engineers in the industry and equipping them with the information, community tools and infrastructure they need to be successful. The VP, Worldwide Sales Engineering will lead this global Sales Engineering community.
SE Standards And Community
  • Architect and maintain the global hiring standard across the Sales Engineering organization.
  • Be the voice of the SE community. Advise management on all matters pertaining to the SE team, including promotions, career development and field concerns.
  • Act as an evangelist for Gigamon's technology in the field and with customers.
  • Create SE - Engineering global knowledge exchange.
  • Identify SE skill and knowledge gaps. Articulate training needs to marketing and product management and ensure relevant material is produced.
  • Develop and deploy SE Ambassador / Expert program
  • Own the planning of and oversee the SE lab infrastructure
  • Host the SE community forum and facilitate global SE calls
  • Prioritize SE resource allocation on cross regional opportunities
    Be the Voice of the Field
    • Advocate customer requirements identified by the field. Participate in product roadmap reviews, help prioritize product development, and communicate product strategy back to the field.
    • Collect and prioritize the field requirements for product internationalization and liaise with Product Marketing and R&D to ensure timely development and release.
      Experience / Education
      • , B.A. degree or equivalent in Engineering, Math, or technology or business related discipline. M.B.A. a plus.
      • 8+ years experience in a field leadership and/or management operations role
      • 15+ years global experience in Field Sales, Sales Engineering, or Channel Roles
      • Experience architecting and managing a global SE community in a matrix environment.
      • Field experience as an SE

        • Strong oral and written communications skills.

        • Ability to build influential relationships with customers, channels, and internal stakeholders such as Marketing and Engineering.
        • Strong project planning, program management and implementation skills; a self-starter.
        • Exceptional analytic skills and conceptual thinking ability.
        • Frequent travel required.
        • Ability to have a high impact in a matrix organization structure
          The base salary compensation range being targeted for this role based out of Gigamon's Santa Clara, CA Headquarters office is $170,000 - $300,000, with an opportunity to earn an annual bonus or commission (subject to terms and conditions of the plan). This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company's compensation practices.
