Full description of the position

REPORTS TO: Vice President- Sales & Marketing

SUPERVISES DIRECTLY: N/A

Purpose for the Position: Responsible for delivering sales results for assigned hotel(s) based on staffing needs and performance. Provide direct support on property during hotel opening or transitioning, has an open position due to new position, turnover, leave of absence, or where the hotel is underperforming.

Essential Responsibilities:


-Provides temporary support and performs all duties of the Director of Sales and Marketing, Sales Manager, or Catering Sales Manager.
-Manages accounts and develops partnerships with group, BT and government travel buyers, penetrating and growing market share and driving sales for an individual or group of hotels.
-Quickly grasp and understand the assigned market (ex: competitors' strengths and weaknesses, demand trends, market performance, segmentation) and knows how to sell against them.
-Achieves a minimum of 90% of productivity goals and 100% of activity goals, as established by Real Hospitality Group.
-Responds to and manages incoming catering, group and/or transient leads and opportunities from multiple channels in a timely manner.
-Identifies, qualifies, and solicits new business (catering, group and/or transient) to achieve hotel revenue goals.
-Executes and supports the administrative aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposals, writing contracts, customer correspondence, and logging all account activities in the sales CRM).
-Increase market share of current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer revenue growth.
-Communicates clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listens and gets clarification, responds well to questions, demonstrates group presentation skills, and participates in meetings.
-Understands and implements brand-specific strategies and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process.
-Presents market hotel benefits and features based on customer needs, offering customized solutions.
-Completes group forecasts to be within 3% -5% of forecast accuracy.
-Complete reports: weekly sales reports, business plans, action plans, month-end sales reports, and others as required.
-Refers business opportunities to other hotels within Real Hospitality Group first, when applicable.
-Utilizes negotiation skills and creative selling abilities to win the business.
-Executes designated sales strategies to develop and solicit specific accounts to achieve revenue goals.
-Leverages tools and resources to actively achieve revenue goals (ex: business plan, budget, TravelClick, PMS).
-Utilizes brand intranet for resources, templates, and information.
-Creates and maintains complete and up-to-date lead information on each account in the sales CRM to verify accurate reporting (ex: Delphi, OneSource, STS, etc).
-Uses the sales call process to set clear expectations for customers and properties. Collaborates with Revenue Management to analyze and price RFPs. Utilizes yield management techniques by profitably negotiating room rates and function space commitments to enhance the hotel's financial performance.
-Builds and maintains strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
-Conducts walk-throughs, site inspections, and Familiarization Tours (FAM) tours, as required.
-Represents sales department at staff meetings and stand-up meetings, revenue calls, P&L calls, owner meetings, and budget reviews, reporting out on sales performance.
-Controls expenses including travel on the hotel's behalf to minimize hotel costs.
-Represents themselves, the hotel, and Real Hospitality Group with the highest level of integrity.
-Exhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments and maintains open communications across all disciplines.
-Professional, neat, well-groomed appearance at all times.
-Completes other reasonable duties as requested by leadership.
