Area Sales Manager – New York State

WX Brands is searching for an Area Sales Manager (ASM) based in New York State to join our team. This person will work directly with our distributor partners on the development and promotion of our national brands in both the on premise and off premise trade channels.

The ideal candidate will come to the table with established relationships in New York State, including NY Metro, and will hit the ground running!

Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • The expectation is that our ASMs will spend 85% of their time in the field developing relationships with key high-potential volume accounts.
  • Promotes and sells all WX Brands National Brands to meet and/or exceed company sales quotas, while also identifying sources of new business opportunities.
  • Develops effective wholesaler objectives based on plan, monitors and measures performance versus goals and communicates set objectives to wholesale partners.
  • Develops and maintains key account and target lists; develops relationships at top level accounts.
  • Participation in distributor work-withs, crew drives, training seminars, trade shows, wine dinners and sales meetings.
  • The ASMs will be selling and promoting WX National Brand products to those key accounts using only methods allowable by law set by the ABC in the geographies where they are conducting business.
  • Introduces creative programs based on market needs and conditions.
  • Schedules and leads effective wholesaler sales meetings; coordinates monthly meetings with wholesaler sales teams.
  • Coordinates tracking reports with wholesalers based on agreed upon goals and programs.
  • Promotion of WX National Brands could include but not limited to participate in product sampling events, wine dinners, distributor trade shows and regional wine events. Nights and Weekends will be required.
  • Weekly reporting of activities to their supervisor including activities, success stories, events and meetings attending along with plans for upcoming activities.
  • Submits required reports and expenses on time in full.
  • Manages point of sale (POS) and marketing materials for wholesaler as well as key accounts. Orders sales tools for effective market execution.
  • Educates wholesaler and customers on products and merchandising priorities.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • College degree or equivalent experience plus minimum 5 years direct distributor experience within the beverage alcohol industry.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, solid communication skills, good judgment and professional maturity.
  • Must be organized and efficient at completing administrative tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team to accomplish goals.
  • Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and be prepared to embrace a start-up environment.
  • Demonstrate intermediate Microsoft Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Must be able to drive within region as well as maintain a home office.
  • Able to lift 40lb cases of wine to build displays
  • Comfortable speaking about our wines to small and large audiences.
  • Ability to sit in a car and travel for prolonged periods of time.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable automobile transportation

The salary range for this role is: $95,000-$110,000 annually

This is the typical hiring range we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

This job is also eligible for an annual bonus. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including 19 days of paid time off to start, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) with a company match, and any other benefits to eligible employees.
