About the Role:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Relationship Manager position is responsible for maintaining existing and developing new business and consumer relationships. The primary role is to develop a thorough relationship profile for each customer and maintains frequent in-person, phone, and email contact to grow and deepen customer relationships. This role provides exceptional customer service by taking ownership of the customer experience from introduction to the Bank, through profiling the customer, assessing their banking and borrowing needs, and recommending appropriate products based on a thorough knowledge of the Bank’s products and services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Calls on existing customers to deepen the customer relationship and customer satisfaction.
  • Solicits potential prospects by mail, phone, and in-person visits to determine relationship opportunities that are in alignment with the Bank’s core values and strategic vision.
  • Responsible for increasing deposit account openings, small business loan and consumer loan referrals.
  • Actively engages in business development and civic initiatives with contacts throughout the community, including customers and prospective customers to promote goodwill and generate new business.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of and effectively promotes the Bank’s products and services offered.
  • Promotes division campaigns and contributes in achieving division goals.
  • Assists the branch offices with promoting the High Performance Growth (HPG) Program.
  • Coordinates identified lending opportunities with lending department.
  • Participates in community service events, community events, and Bank sponsored activities with specific emphasis on CRA eligible events.
  • Provide superior internal and external customer service: must demonstrate self-governance, timeliness, courtesy, and respect toward customers, prospective customers, and organization personnel.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Records all calling activities in the Bank’s tracking system in a timely manner.
  • Keeps management appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems or complaints.
  • Represents the Bank in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive “can-do” attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs.
  • Attends and participates in meetings as required.
  • Completes required bank training courses within the assigned time frames.
  • Keeps work area in an organized and tidy for efficiency and to maintain customer privacy.
  • Directs and coordinates activities to maintain institutions policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, include but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

About You:
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:
  • Strong product knowledge within the banking services industry.
  • Some lending experience, preferred.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Proficient with PC applications including Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
  • Ability to make both one on one and group presentations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes. This job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
