Overview:
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Key Account Manager defines and executes the Key Account Program at target bio-pharmaceutical accounts and departments with high potential for large unit number/platform adoption. The position requires strategic thinking, the ability to work closely with the colleagues at Waters and other Regional Manager and Field Application Scientist teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts.
  • Develop and execute a Strategic Key Account plan to include the methodology needed to achieve sales growth
  • Execute and improve the Key Account Program strategy to move and maintain the Assigned Key Accounts to trust advisor level.
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel and management in assigned Key Accounts.
  • Coordinate the involvement of Wyatt and Waters personnel, including support, service,
    and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers' expectations (i.e. VP Sales, National Sales Manager, Head of Product Management, Head of Marketing Head of Sales, KA Program Manager, etc.)
  • Manage Application Scientists who will also have responsibility for assigned accounts.
  • Develop detailed Key Account business plans, organize, accurately forecast territory results, provide market intelligence, implement value selling, and leverage applications to identify companies and departments that could benefit from Wyatt technology
  • Collaborate with the Inside Sales Department, Marketing Department, and Business Development teams.
  • Maintain technical and application proficiency with all of Wyatt products, value positioning, competitors, and core applications
  • Build trust with customers and colleagues and maintain the highest level of integrity while building long-term relationships with customers and establishing yourself as a trusted, inspiring leader
  • Monitor competitive activity and industry trends, fosters competitive solutions to meet sales goals.
  • Timely submit forecasts, weekly reports, monthly highlights, marketing intelligence, and other related reports for defined territory to supervisor using CRM tools.
  • Maintain accurate and current records of proposals, opportunities, accounts, contacts, leads and actions through CRM within defined territory. Maintain daily and weekly updates.
  • Keep manager abreast of any new developments in the marketplace (competitive, product, customer, wins/losses, etc.).
  • Present the company’s products in a positive manner and maintain/build our reputation in the marketplace.
  • Travel up to 50% for sales meetings, sales training and tradeshows.
Qualifications:
  • PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or equivalent
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience. Minimum one (1) year of HPLC experience or one (1) year of Wyatt light scattering experience required; experience with both preferred.
  • Three (3) years of hands-on experience with HPLC and Light Scattering instruments
  • Knowledge of polymer characterization techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills
  • Clean driving record with 2 or less points
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an excellent familiarity with basic lab techniques, instrumentation, and software.
  • Excellent organization, motivation, attention to detail, and communication skills are a must.

The general base pay for this position ranges from $82,000 to $109,000 per year
. Pay is based on several factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
