This is a Hybrid position, but must live in Hawaii.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Regional Business Development and Client Services Director is responsible for generating leads, prospects, and new or add-on business while expanding and/or maintaining the existing revenue base within the State of Hawaii. This position will have client service responsibilities on an assigned book of business to ensure retention and program growth. The person will be responsible for facilitating, collaborating with, and supporting any business development, client services, and marketing teammates.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare a business plan and activity calendar annually to reflect the current business environment for renewals, additional service lines, and new business.

  • Work Closely with local and national TRISTAR professionals to learn and reinforce the TRISTAR way.
  • Be a thought leader in the industry by creating and hosting educational sessions that are available to clients, prospects, and strategic business partners.
  • Elevate position with State and National Associations through trade show attendance.
  • Participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in National and Regional seminars.
  • Recruit SMEs to represent TRISTAR and our clients in thought leadership activities.
  • Work with other Business Development personnel and Marketing to create and keep fresh the TRISTAR newsletter and Ad Hoc monthly or quarterly activities.
  • Execute on their plan to close prospect opportunities and meet annual goals
  • Work closely with senior management and teammates to meet or exceed quarterly goals.
  • Create 10 new contacts per quarter to enhance the TRISTAR brand.
  • Utilize the TRISTAR Way of Selling to improve on the overall business development experience.
  • Travel to prospective accounts, existing clients, trade shows and corporate meetings may require up to 50% travel.
  • Maintain expenses within budget and maximize the impact of each dollar for our company and clients.
  • Ensure that their conference calendars are full of meaningful client and prospect meetings.
  • Share all notes in Salesforce on a timely basis that relate to travel, client, and prospect activities.
  • Facilitate and deliver renewal position on existing clients
  • Learn core product competencies within TRISTAR including Casualty claims, Managed Care services, Absence Management, Self-Funded Benefit Administration, and Risk Management (Aspen RM)
  • Participate in all training activities within TRISTAR.
  • Share experiences with the team to create a touchpoint for others as they grow within the organization.
  • Develop rapport and credibility with potential clients and industry consultants to enhance revenue growth opportunities.
  • Create your top 25 list each quarter to follow as a guide as you plan your activities.
  • Work with the Proposal Writer to respond to Request for Proposals from potential and current clients as needed:
  • Take the lead in reviewing and responding to RFP/RFQ/RFIs or similar.
  • Act as the final reviewer of all responses to a request.
  • Use the TRISTAR WAY of Selling to propose solutions and options to meet the needs of clients thereby increasing the revenue potential.
  • Work closely within Business Development and Client Services to manage NEW, RENEWAL/RECOMPETE client implementation meetings in coordination with Operations
  • Follow the ESU Form to ensure that you include the designated IT, HR, Client Services representative, Regional Executive, and/or Branch Managers in an implementation process.
  • Prepare new client implementation service guidelines in conjunction with Client Services or Regional Executives
  • For both New and Renewal business,, work with appropriate team members to service assigned accounts in coordination with Operations; anticipate and meet client’s needs; troubleshoot problems; provide consulting advice; and meet service needs and requirements.
  • Develop and facilitate sales presentations, as required including hosting at least one online internal sales and client services meeting per year as directed by Senior Leadership.
  • Prepare bi-weekly client activity reports from Salesforce and provide to VP every other Friday by 4 pm CST
  • Maintain consistent contact at various client levels
  • Participate with client claims reviews when required.
  • Work closely with other TRISTAR departments to ensure a coordinated delivery of services to the client, based on services purchased.
  • Constantly monitor and understand the competitive marketplace.
  • Develop annual and tri-annual strategic and tactical plans with the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field (preferred); Five (5) years sales and client services experience required.*

  • A working knowledge of Excel, Word and SalesForce.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to convey technical details to clients and staff.

  • Knowledge of Solution Selling and use of TRISTAR WAY of SELLING process.
  • Ability to understand the Third Party Administration industry.
