Job Title: Director of Development
Classification/FTE Regular, Full Time
FLSA Exemption Status: Exempt (Professional)
Salary Grade/Range: 207 $52,500 to $70,900
Supervisor (title): Executive Director

Job Summary: The Director of Development is responsible for all fundraising and public relations efforts to ensure that WISE is appropriately represented through various forms of interaction and communication including, but not limited to: direct contact, events, marketing, and social media mechanisms.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Fundraising -

  • Develop and execute all fundraising initiatives; develop plans and seek gifts from individual and corporate donors to include churches, businesses, community organizations
  • Identify, recommend, implement, and serve as system administrator for appropriate software system such as Donor Perfect / Constant Co, or similar software system.
  • Responsible for stewardship and donor relations activities; appropriately acknowledge gifts, in memory, and condolence communication.
  • Serve as Primary Grant coordinator/writer – identify grant opportunities, draft, finalize, submit, communicate & track grant efforts and success
  • Perform prospect research and pursue donors as appropriate.
  • Provide monthly fundraising reports and participates as requested in finance committee meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Event Planning & Execution -

  • Plan, budget, recommend and seek approval for all, fundraising, public relations, facility grand openings, celebrations, marketing or other events.
  • Collect data, track progress; prepare progress reports quarterly or as required.

Marketing, Social Media, Communications & Website -

  • Develop and execute annual marketing plan (to include social media & website) and oversee the development of marketing collateral.
  • Develop and implement social media campaigns to raise awareness and cultivate relationships
  • Develop and distribute newsletter on consistent basis
  • Develop and oversee website updates
  • Collect metrics; analyze and track progress; prepare progress reports quarterly or as required.

Requirements, Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion
  • Superb soft skills and emotional intelligence; able to make and maintain relationships and ability to make a strong and specific “ask” when appropriate
  • Strategic aptitude; detailed organized and efficient
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Proficient technical aptitude, familiarity with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar tools; databases; email; websites; and common social media apps such as FB, Instagram, YouTube,

Twitter, Whats App, etc

  • Display professional appearance and conduct in representing WISE and adhere to its policies, culture, and standards.
  • Hold and maintain a valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record
  • Pass a background Screening

Education and Experience:
BS Degree required
3+ years experience
