If you are a Technical Sales professional in the process industry looking for an opportunity to grow your career, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in SW Washington , you will be responsible for driving instrumentation sales in many different industries in Western Washington and NW Oregon . Industries include but are not limited to, Pulp and Paper, Chemical, Power, Food and Beverage, Semiconductor, and Life Sciences . In this position, you will partner with customers to make the world healthier, safer, smarter, and sustainable. This is a remote field-based position located within the territory.

AS A TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE, YOU WILL:

  • Work closely as a strategic partner with current and prospective customers to understand business needs and recommend solutions that will maintain and grow sales
  • Utilize proven sales strategies and CRM to promote and sell the company image and “Total Value”
  • Regularly perform territory analysis and planning
  • Pursue and win major project business
  • Successfully provide sales solutions independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Utilize a substantial level of technical knowledge and field experience in presenting the products, evaluating customer requirements, troubleshooting, training customer personnel, and recommending design revisions and potential new products

WHO YOU ARE:

You use knowledge of business drivers, strategies, and tactics in the market to guide actions. You establish and maintain effective customer relationships. You set objectives to align with broader organizational goals. You effectively communicate in various settings: one-on-one, in small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels. You show personal commitment and take action to improve continuously

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or will consider a combination of education and experience related to company product or industry
  • Minimum 3 years of related sales and or technical experience within the automation industry
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be a self-starter and work with limited supervision
  • Willing and able to travel overnight 10%-20%
  • Travel outside of the territory for factory training and meetings
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Sales experience within the automation industry

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $67,230-$103,510 annually with a center point bonus of $22,000, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
