As Government Logistics Sales & Operations, you will have the opportunity to assist in the expansion of our government services group in the areas of Ocean, Truckload, Intermodal, NVOCC, and Warehousing. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate and work with both the domestic and international divisions of the company to help assist in the growth and development of Trailer Bridge’s government division.
- Work directly with Department of Defense (DoD) and Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC)
- Solicit Transportation services to additional government agencies and prime contractors.
- Complete all necessary reporting requirements for government agencies and customers.
- Travel for government conferences or meetings with transportation officers and government procurement professionals as needed.
- Utilize daily communication to build lasting relationships with government agencies and prime contractors.
- Grasp key concepts of our various logistics divisions and approaches to personal customer service.
- Keep up to date on the market and seasonal trends and apply that knowledge accordingly.
- Track and trace shipments and ensure excellent communication from pickup to delivery.
- Ensure that prime contractors meet all specifications necessary to move our customers’ freight.
- Identify and apply effective solutions to new and current customer supply chain needs.
- Develop customer accounts by providing the highest level of customer service.
- 2-5 years previous experience in domestic truckload with Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) and pricing tariffs inside of Global Freight Management (GFM).
- Preferred experience in submitting General Services Administration (GSA) schedules and submitting transportation and warehousing contracts to the Department of Defense (DoD) and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
- Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
