Job Title: Leasing Specialist

Department: Residential Services

Sub-Department/Program: Property Management

Reports to: Program Director

Responsibilities:

  • At least monthly, review delinquent reports to determine tenants who will be placed in legal status
  • Serve as the main point of contact for program staff on hold over issues
  • Prepare and submit required documentation to agency’s attorneys to start hold over or non-payment cases.
  • Work with program staff to assist with delinquent accounts through payment plans or arrears assistance from Human Resources Administration.
  • Using property management software to coordinate court cases and forward updated rent ledgers and relevant documents to legal for evictions.
  • Responsible for tracking and processing tenant accounts in arrears for eviction with agency’s attorneys.
  • Prepare in house notices to cease or cure lease violations.
  • Primary liaison with the finance department on rent collection and required reports
  • Receives legal statements and invoices for preparation and payment of legal fees.
  • Responsible for tracking and processing the renewal of all master leases for scatter site apartments.
  • Manage repair requests for scatter site apartments; coordinate with landlords and management companies to ensure completion of all repairs.
  • Process and distribute annual recertification notices to tenants.
  • Prepare new and annual subleases inputting tenant rent portions and scanning to database.
  • Perform accurate rent calculation for tenants’ monthly rent as per funder guidelines annually and on move in of new tenant.
  • Utilize property management software to update tenant status and rent charge.
  • Communicate with program staff on leasing, repair and rent related matters.
  • Assist program staff with documentation required for applying for rental arrears assistance for delinquent tenants.
  • Attend internal and external meetings, court hearings if required, supervision and trainings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Some college preferred, tax credit certification a plus; previous experience in property management in a social service setting, experience working in mental health settings, strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills; stress resistant, flexible; team player; open to feedback; excellent organizational skills; ability to work remotely, experience with One Site property management, MS Excel and knowledge of AWARDS.
  • COVID VACCINATION REQUIRED; MASK WEARING REQUIRED

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
