Now Hiring - Manufacturing Sales Representative - Food Lab Services in Kansas City, MO

The Sales Representative researches industry trends and explores businesses in the food industry to obtain leads for possible new clients and customers for the laboratory’s services. Reaches out to prospective clients via telephone, e-mail and in person. Attends trade shows and industry specific conferences in order to network and build a substantial contact and client base. Calls on local, national and international accounts and prospective accounts. Recommends new procedures and processes to laboratory personnel based on input from customers. Must effectively communicate with laboratory personnel, other sales staff and customers.

Establishment of working relationships with representatives from organizations within industries that the laboratory services.

Promoting laboratory services to customers and prospective customers.

Maintaining a presence with customers in the industry to help service new needs of the customers as they arise.

Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry trends as they pertain to testing and compliance issues.

Experience: Experience working in the technical services field of the food industry

Education: B.S. in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or related field is preferred

Skills: Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, able to handle multiple tasks, capable of prioritizing and planning work activities, excellent verbal and written communication, demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness with the ability to improve and promote quality and safety. Must be proficient in MS Excel and Outlook, with a working knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint.
