This position is responsible for building relationships related to lighting products and or controls and distributor stock business and achieving goals within your territory. The majority of time will be focused on growing awareness and acceptance of our manufactures’ products and programs with electrical distributors and contractors. As part of this position, you will work closely with the manufacturer’s sales and technical team as an advocate and product expert to your accounts.

• Developing relationships with contractors/distributors on project and stock business.
• Conducting technical, sales, and product trainings in the territory or at manufacturers’ facility.
• Providing service and support to customers during design, construction, and post project completion.
• Maintaining field intelligence on competitor’s activities and new product developments
• Report sales and call activities on a regular basis

Requirements, Skills and Abilities

• Must have outstanding written and verbal communication/presentation skills
• Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Must possess a high level of comfort in communicating with every level of an organization from top level executives to field personnel
• Must have strong relationship-building and relationship management skills
• Must be able to operate with a minimum amount of supervision while consistently delivering annual goals.
• Travel within territory required. Occasional travel to manufacturers and trade events required.

Education and Experience

• BA/BS Degree in a related field preferred
• 3-5+ years of experience working in the commercial electrical or industrial wholesale market a plus
