Job Description Summary

As the Sr. Global Product and Market Development Manager for the Bone and Metabolic Health segment, you will be responsible for defining the overall strategy and development of our Bone and Metabolic Health Dual X-Ray Absorptiometry (DXA) solutions portfolio to meet the needs of the global bone and body composition markets. You will also identify and pursue new market opportunities to drive growth and profitability for the business. You will own product definitions, including clinical and technical capabilities, service features, upgrade & lifecycle strategies, and develop strong customer relationships. This individual will analyze market/business/product financials to identify opportunities for product innovation, revenue growth, margin expansion, and market share gain for new and installed base system offerings. You will collaborate cross-functionally with clinical marketing, sales, engineering, service, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory to maximize the competitiveness of our Bone and Metabolic Health portfolio.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Creating the vision and defining the roadmap for development and commercialization of the Bone and Metabolic Health product portfolio including DXA bone densitometers, Clinical Applications, and Digital Solutions.

  • Owning products end-to-end throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle, including new product development, installed-based offerings, and end-of-product/service life.

  • Identifying and developing new market opportunities, conducting market research, forecasting sales projections to determine the potential success of entering new markets, developing strategies to drive growth and profitability in these new markets, and directly engaging regional commercial leaders and distribution channels to implement the strategy to ensure success.

  • Ensuring the “voice of the customer” is reflected in product decisions and roadmaps, by building strong external customer relationships to gather feedback on new prototypes and pre-commercial offerings. Collaborating with engineering leaders, clinical marketing managers, and clinical leaders to develop priorities, clinical and technical requirements, product differentiators, value propositions, and evidence generation plans.

  • Developing a deep understanding of customers’ clinical and economic needs, as well as values and benefits sought to build financial business cases in conjunction with strategic clinical marketing, regional product marketing and finance as part of the NPI process.

  • Conducts in-depth clinical discussions with customers to understand the jobs to be done and translates this information to outcome-driven innovation strategies and solutions to address unmet needs and drive business growth and profitability.

  • Collaborating with key-stakeholders, including program management, engineering, clinical marketing, sales, manufacturing, finance, fulfillment, and service teams, to ensure compliance with quality systems, regulatory requirements, and commercial processes.

  • Working with Global Clinical Marketing to develop positioning/messaging, sales and clinical training materials & collaterals, and creative commercial launches and sales campaigns for NPIs

  • Establish, build, and maintain strategic technology collaborations with external partners to augment the product portfolio with 3rd party solutions.

  • Delivering quality and service improvements over the product lifecycle and defining end-of-life strategies for older products. Driving variable cost productivity initiatives to improve margins while retaining performance and customer value. Optimizing system configurations and offerings to maximize portfolio profitability.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business Administration or related field

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in at least one of these areas: product management, product marketing, x-ray product sales, engineering, in medical device regulated healthcare industry.

  • Team oriented with proven ability to work well with diverse, global and cross-functional teams to shape vision and product strategy

  • Ability to document, plan, market, advocate clinical solutions, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Strong analytical and finance skills

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States full-time

Desired Characteristics:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing, x-ray product (preferred but other modalities are acceptable) sales, engineering, in the regulated healthcare industry

  • Strong technical and clinical understanding of DXA/X-Ray technology and its applications

  • Deep Product Management/Marketing expertise, including: market trends/analysis, product commercialization and road-map development, product life-cycle management

  • Customer-facing experience via sales, field applications, marketing, or clinical development

  • Experience with digital analytics including artificial intelligence and machine learning

  • Healthcare product/industry/technical acumen
