Description:

The Field Sales Representative (FSR) is responsible for developing Summit product sales and account relationships in the market. The FSR position is field-based, and works in coordination with Summit sales management, as well as Summit distributor sales teams to achieve ongoing sales and distribution targets aligned to the Annual Business Plan.

This is a field-based position and will consist of working an average of four days per week in the market and one day per week on site to achieve targeted sales and distribution objectives. This position reports to the Senior Area Sales Manager (Sr. ASM).

The sales territory for this position will generally cover the western and northern suburbs of the Twin Cities. No relocation assistance provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OUTCOMES:

  • Build strong working relationships at the account level that lead to increased distribution, sales volume, and customer engagement in targeted on- and off-premise accounts.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual distribution and sales goals.
  • Utilize the provided tools and resources to implement programming at the account level that is consistent with the overall Summit sales and marketing plan.
  • Consistently communicate in both verbal and written form or as needed for external parties, including at the account and distributor level.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled, and targeted Summit crew drives as communicated by the Sr. ASM.
  • Ability to work periodic special events associated with the brewery outside of normal day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Ensure the execution of all Summit Brand Standards in the market and properly address improvements or support
  • Represent the Summit Brand with a high degree of professionalism and expertise in all customer interactions.
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Sales experience within the alcoholic beverage industry strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the beer industry and a passion for building a strong and loyal customer base.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective and high-energy public speaking and presentation experience.
  • Able to identify, evaluate and act on new sales opportunities in the market.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of hours. Some evening and weekend work is required. Most work will take place within a consistent and defined Monday-Friday timeframe, however there will be the need for periodic attendance of events outside these hours.
  • Minimal overnight travel required, which will be scheduled and communicated in advance.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities, emergent needs, and multiple important issues concurrently.
  • Ability to cultivate positive relationships with co-workers, staff, the greater sales and marketing team, other company employees, vendors, wholesalers, retailers, end consumers and outside organizations.
  • Must be able to travel within the assigned sales territory, as well as have the ability to attend onsite meetings and events.
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record are required.
  • Able to perform administrative functions using applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to sit or stand for the length of a workday and/or prolonged periods of time
  • Able to work in a manufacturing environment (moderate to loud, hot, humid, cold, slick, etc.) and within conditions typical of both indoor and outdoor environments (cool, warm, hot, humid, wet, etc.)
  • Able to frequently push, pull, lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds safely above waist-level and occasionally push, pull, lift and/or move objects up to 160 pounds
  • At least 21 years of age at the time of application
