Local staffing agency in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Business Developer to add to their team!

Principal Accountabilities of the Position

1. Increase sales/job orders in a given territory (Tulsa and surrounding areas) by making personal and telephone contacts with current and prospective clients in that territory.

2. Ensure the supply of potential associates by making recruiting calls.

3. Maintain current account information records, prepare all reports, and provide feedback to administrative personnel on a timely basis.

4. Exercise expense control to conform to the office budget.

Role of the Business Developer

The Business Developer is responsible for implementing the local office’s sales plan by conducting outside sales calls on existing and prospective clients within the manager’s designated territory. The Business Developer should have a thorough understanding of the services that we offer and how to present those services to prospects and clients.

The successful Business Developer will gather information about, and become familiar with, a number of subjects. Among these are the following:

· Current trends in the staffing industry.

· Nature of client businesses and personnel needs.

· What the competition is doing

· What sets us apart from competitors.

· Current and predicted business conditions in the territory.

· Basic employment laws and their application to clients.

Essential Functions (95% of Business Developer’s time)

1. Establish New Business Accounts

· Develops and maintains reliable sources of information that provide timely and accurate data about new business opportunities.

· Analyze the local market for potential application of contingent staffing options and recruiting services.

· Conducts prescribed number of personal sales calls on all prospective clients within the established marketing territory, obtaining information about prospect’s business, decision makers, and new business opportunities.

· Conducts follow-up calls as necessary.

· Prepares and presents sales proposals to prospective client decision maker(s).

· Delivers service agreements and job orders to the appropriate internal staff member or Manager.

· Obtains and transmits client credit history.

2. Expand and Maintain Existing Client Accounts

· Develops and maintains client goodwill by making regular sales/service calls.

· Educates clients concerning expanding our services and staffing strategies applicable to client-specific needs.

· Advises clients about recent developments in employment law, local business events, and employment trends.

· Creates and maintains client confidence by sharing relevant information about our capabilities, professionalism, and expertise in human resource management.

· Obtains, when possible, referrals to potential client decision-makers.

3. Expand our presence in the Community

· Joins and actively participates in approved civic and professional organizations to develop personal skills and contacts for future business relationships.

· Represents the Company at local job fairs, community services projects, and career days.

· Speaks to various school classes, groups, and other potential recruiting sources.

4. Other Sales Support Activity

· Establishes and maintains records of all sales calls.

· Communicates daily with internal staff concerning client-pertinent information, such as contacts, associate usage, required skills, office and plant equipment, and any necessary follow-up activity.

· Provides Manager with observations, opinions, and client suggestions about service improvements and greater business opportunities.

· Analyzes individual accounts to determine potential business and prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.

· Observes, evaluates, and reports activities of competitors, and provides recommendations to revise marketing strategy.

· Advises appropriate internal staff members about client problems and develops account-specific marketing plans.

Other Duties (Approximately 5% of time)

· Completes weekly and monthly reports on activity, expenses, results, programs, etc.

· Maintains a current mailing list of all clients and prospects in territory.

· Dispatches associates to client accounts when necessary.

· Attends required meetings, conferences, and training sessions, some of which may involve out-of-town and overnight travel.

· Other duties and projects as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

· Essential activities are conducted away from the local office and within various office and plant settings.

· Constant travel requires exposure to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions.

· Must be able to work effectively under stress of daily travel, deadlines, commitments, and client problems.

· Must be able to operate a vehicle, climb stairs, and carry necessary marketing materials, gifts, and supplies.

· Must maintain a valid state driver’s license and provide own vehicle for sales calls (a company vehicle will not be provided, however, mileage will be reimbursed on a monthly basis).

Minimum Education

· Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field. Significant, successful sales experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.

Knowledge and Skills

· Should have a thorough knowledge of temporary and full-time placement policies and operations as well as basic math skills used in pricing techniques and strategies.

· Should have a working, conversant understanding of basic employment laws, particularly the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act.

· Should understand and be able to communicate the co-employment relationship and its implications on the multitude of employment laws and workplace regulations.

· Should have basic computer skills and the ability to compose routine correspondence and reports.

· Should understand and be able to apply effective human relations and problem-solving principles to the co-employment relationship.

· Must be able to effectively speak before groups.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
