Job Summary:

Outside retail sales consultants conduct preset, prequalified company-generated and self-generated appointments selling window and door product lines directly to homeowners via in-home sales consultations following a structured in-home sales presentation using a consultative sales approach. This position is responsible for maintaining a high-level of integrity and professionalism when representing the Pella brand.

*This is an uncapped commission based role with a draw base salary

Schedule and Availability:

  • Weekdays during normal business hours from 9am to 6pm
  • Additional hours outside of business hours as necessary to ensure a successful sales cycle
  • Some Saturday showroom rotations and event attendance as required by management

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales goals by following Pella’s in-home selling process when conducting consultations
  • Own the full sales process by
  • Assessing customer needs Demonstrating product application, Conducting accurate on-site measuring and quoting, Capturing the sale and providing delivery schedule, Following up after product installation
  • Gain new business through proactive networking and referrals
  • Displays and/or demonstrates product in Showrooms and/or consumer home shows, using samples or catalogs, emphasizing features and benefits of Pella products
  • Submit customer orders within a timely manner
  • Utilize electronic systems and software to quote products and manage business
  • Strive for 100% “very Satisfied” customers via exemplary customer service
  • Must successfully complete the Pella Corporate Professional Sales Training and any local workshops as they become available
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s license to operate a fleet vehicle
  • Performs other duties as necessary or assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of construction industry
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and customer accounts at onceAbility to manage complex sales cycles from initial appointment to completed installation
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University; or 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two to four years of sales experience strongly preferred

Mathematical and Reasoning Skills

  • Ability to put together accurate quotes
  • Ability to understand customer needs and offer appropriate solutions
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately and understand fractions

Computer Skills:

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft suite
  • Must be familiar with smart devices
  • Ability to learn and utilize proprietary Pella software programs and applications and other business critical applications

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to provide clear communication with customers via emails, telephone calls, and/or text messages in a timely manner
  • Ability to verbally present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, and the public

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, type or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, or crouch

Work Environment

  • Work is primarily conducted at customer jobsites
  • The noise level for this position is usually moderate
