Our Assistant Catering Sales Managerworks closely with the Catering Sales Manager to provide timely response and accurate information to interested parties. Responsible for maintaining organization and effectiveness of the catering/conference services department. Successful candidates have strong administrative support skills while working on special projects as assigned while being proactive and responsive in a timely, friendly and professional manner. Additional responsibilities to include booking and coordinating catering only events along with handling smaller corporate groups contracted by sales.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

  • Set-up and maintain group files for new and repeat bookings, both physical and electronically
  • Distribute upcoming Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), weekly event schedule and group resumes
  • Confirm group reservations for restaurant, golf, marina, spa to include food and beverage needs
  • Gather information to respond to catering only event inquiries
  • Book and coordinate smaller catering only events
  • Coordinate smaller groups booked by the Sales Team
  • Have an understanding of the sales process to be able to handle small group bookings from inquiry to contract
  • Compile group billing information
  • Track room block pick up reports
  • Update vendor product and service listings
  • Help prepare for pre-con meetings and wedding tastings
  • Maintain complete knowledge of hotel features, services and hours of operation

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • College Degree or 1-2 years of catering /hospitality related supervisory experience
  • Clear and concise written and verbal skills coupled with excellent time management abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Maintaining a high degree of professional communication while remaining highly organized and detail oriented
  • The ability to function effectively in a fast-paced atmosphere
  • Present excellent customer service skills in an effort to drive continuous client engagement
  • Excellent knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office products
  • Exceptional follow through on items requiring your attention
  • Additional consideration will be given to those who have previous catering sales/event planning experience and/or property management systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
