POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the Executive Vice-President in Office of the President, as the inaugural Sales Director, you will play a pivotal role in developing and leading a coordinated sales approach within the organization and driving revenue growth by effectively selling our educational programs, consulting services, data offerings, and membership to institutions, schools, and their leaders. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional sales skills and a passion for our mission to empower leaders and integrated advancement professionals through high-quality training, education, and development opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The core functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:
1. Develop and execute sales strategies: Collaborate with the COO, executive team and senior directors of the Opportunity and Inclusion Center, CASE Insights and [please apply online] to develop comprehensive sales strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. Coordinate strategies with Regional Executive Directors. Create and implement sales plans to drive revenue growth for programs, consulting services, and membership.
2. Generate leads and build relationships: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through various channels, including but not limited to cold calling, networking, attending industry events, and leveraging existing contacts. Follow up on leads generated by digital marketing campaigns. Build strong relationships with potential clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
3. Sales presentations and negotiations: Deliver compelling sales proposals and presentations to prospective clients, clearly articulating the value and benefits of our programs, consulting services, and membership. Lead negotiations and contract discussions, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
4. Team collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, membership, and program development teams to align sales efforts with marketing campaigns and program offerings. Provide feedback and insights to help refine marketing strategies and optimize sales effectiveness.
5. Sales forecasting and reporting: Develop accurate sales forecasts aligned with annual revenue goals, track sales activities, and regularly report on progress and results to the COO and executive team. Use data-driven insights to analyze sales performance and identify areas for improvement.
6. Customer relationship management: Use CASE technology systems to effectively manage leads, contacts, and sales opportunities. Leverage the CRM to nurture client relationships, track engagement, and maximize customer satisfaction.
7. Stay updated on industry trends: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging needs in professional development. Continuously enhance knowledge and expertise to position the organization as a thought leader in the field.

Fiscal Management/Budget Responsibilities/Judicious Use of Resources
  • Exercises fiscal responsibility in the utilization of all CASE resources.
Liaison Responsibilities
  • Works cooperatively and diplomatically with all divisions and regions.
  • Liaises with CASE colleagues in other parts of the world to ensure the best sharing of ideas, expertise and knowledge.
  • Incorporates tasks and/or projects related to objectives as directed by the CASE Strategic Plan.
Image Responsibilities
  • In keeping with the CASE Values Statement, ensures that CASE is well represented by exercising a high degree of professionalism, accuracy, and ethics, in all activities, services, and products.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.

The breadth and depth of understanding of an issue and the key internal/external persons handling the issue, and the way in which the issue is handled, all affect the outcome of the situation.

  • The position requires that the incumbent quickly develop a deep understanding of CASE, its policies and procedures and an understanding of the culture and regional and divisional interdependencies.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven track record in sales: A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, preferably in a B2B environment, with a demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
  • CRM and sales tools proficiency: Experience working with CRM systems and other sales tools to manage leads, track sales activities, and generate reports.
Skills and Abilities:
  • A demonstrated interest in advancing education in the not-for-profit sector.
  • A strong commitment to contributing to an organizational culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
  • An understanding and interest in engaging with a broad range of cultures and countries.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills: Exceptional sales skills, including lead generation, prospecting, consultative selling, and contract negotiations. Ability to effectively communicate the value proposition and benefits of our programs, consulting services, and membership.
  • Strategic thinker: Ability to think strategically and develop effective sales strategies and plans. Experience in market research, analysis, and forecasting to identify market opportunities and drive revenue growth.
  • Relationship building: Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills to establish rapport and credibility with diverse stakeholders. Proven ability to maintain long-term client relationships and cultivate partnerships.
  • Results-driven: A self-motivated individual with a strong focus on achieving results. Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent communication skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations and proposals. Proficiency in using technology for virtual meetings and presentations.

Salary and Incentive Compensation Structure:
Base salary + bonus compensation structure.
