Linda Valley Assisted Living, a 32-apartment assisted living and 28-bed memory care residence located in Loma Linda California, seeks an experienced Director of Community Relations to build and maintain census.

Loma Linda is home to world famous Loma Linda University and Loma University Medical Center and the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans Administration Hospital. Loma Linda California has been identified as the only Blue Zone in the United States and one of five in the world, a region of the world where people commonly live active lives past the age of 100 years. Scientists and demographers have classified these longevity hot-spots by having common healthy traits and life practices that result in higher-than-normal longevity. Researchers have identified the life-style of the large number of Seventh-day Adventists who reside in Loma Linda as the reason for longevity in Loma Linda.

The Director of Community Relations is responsible for developing a network of professional referral sources, generating inquiries and closing sales (last is critical) so community maintains full occupancy. Must have prior experience in sales, preferably to hospitals. Must love working with senior citizens. Must be creative, confident, energetic and love meeting new people; this is not a position for a shy person. However, since the job is with seniors and their families, must be patient and empathetic. Position requires community visitation and cold calling to prospective referral sources. Must have own transportation and be available to work flexible hours. Would prefer someone who is into social networking and is familiar with the Loma Linda community.
