SALES REPRESENTATIVE II - SPOKANE, WA in Spokane, WA
Intermediate level outside sales representative. Actively engaged in making calls by telephone or in person on prospective and existing customer to sell wood products, quote prices, and generally meets the needs of the customer in keeping with the sales and profit goals of the division. Has responsibility for a large territory or specific product line. Has full knowledge of product lines and operates with minimum supervision.
The salary range for this position is $69,686- $116,144.
This position is bonus eligible, with a target value of 10% of salary.
Sales:
Sell wood products and services to assigned customer base which includes regular customer contacts and regular customer visits.
Manage combined annual sales in the $30,000,000 to $45,000,000 range.
Provide industry and product expertise to assigned customers in order to ensure their success, while meeting production capabilities and sales objectives.
Provide regular and routine communications on all aspects of the business to include sales forecasts, competitive activities and sales results.
Comply with division credit policies and monitor account base for consistency with assigned parameters.
Customer Service:
Recommend appropriate courses of action regarding product claims and insure that all claims are investigated and resolved in adherence to proper investigation procedures.
Stay conversant on other wood products the company sells in order to provide backup support within the sales office.
Marketing Activities:
Assist in marketing activities such as presentations and market research.
Represent the company at industry or association meetings on occasion.
Requirements:
High School diploma and five (5) years sales experience (wood or building products preferred), or Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing or business and three (3) years of sales experience (wood or building products preferred) required.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
Proven ability to communicate within peer group and within an industry, including customers.
Must be able to plan and execute sales activities for larger accounts or customers who purchase higher valued products requiring technical expertise.
Basic knowledge of inventory management and a normal degree of supervision with some discretion and judgement required.
Primarily office environment.
15% travel to visit mills and customers.
Some exposure to mill environment.
Extended periods of sitting required.
General fatigue from computer use.
