Summary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Yardi Business Manager position requires an experienced and highly motivated individual. The successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of Yardi’s Affordable Housing Suite, strong project management skills and a customer service mindset. This role requires novice-level experience in multifamily property management and expert-level experience in using Yardi. The Yardi Business Manager will be responsible for optimizing performance and efficiency across the organization through the effective use of Yardi Voyager 7S, RightSource, RentCafe and Aspire.

Duties include providing Yardi technical support to Nevada HAND Property Management (HPM), Nevada HAND Senior Living (HSL), Accounting, Asset Management, and IT, facilitating Yardi training for new and existing employees, including RentCafé best practices during lease up, and supporting Operational Excellence achieve its annual departmental technology goals.

Essential Functions and Work Duties:

The following essential functions of this position are performed personally, in cooperation with the supervisor, and/or in coordination with other staff.

Yardi Support and Training:

  • Monitor and respond to the [please apply online] group email.
  • Oversee, manage, and support all RentCafé user accounts both internally and externally with NHI residents.
  • Provide daily and ongoing support for all staff members who use Yardi Voyager 7S. This includes but is not limited to identifying workflow issues, innovatively strategized solutions and/ or escalating issues through Yardi Client Central Support Portal when appropriate.
  • In collaboration with Compliance and Accounting develop a systematic process to ensure unit designations are properly based on regulatory documentation.
  • Conduct thorough data clean up and conduct monthly quality control check to ensure reliable data.
  • Oversee and manage the business relationship between Nevada HAND and Yardi. This includes and is not limited to administering vendor activities and ensuring that vendors fulfill their contractual obligations.
  • Manage all steps in the unit swap and unit transfer processes for all communities and always maintain detailed records.
  • Coordinate and support new property Yardi setup related to HPM processes such as lease-ups and re-syndications.
  • Work with and support the Implementation Team (Accounting, HPM, IT) to ensure the quality and consistency of the Yardi setup (framework) of new properties.
  • Collaborate with the IT Help Desk to ensure a high level of performance with regards to the use and maintenance of Yardi Voyager and Rent Café modules.
  • Support efforts related to new functionality, new modules, and upgrades to existing software modules. These efforts will include creating test plans and test cases and monitoring usage to ensure new processes are being followed by end-users.
  • Assist in the development of training curriculums and materials for Yardi workflow training.
  • Facilitate training workshops for new and existing employees on workflows and procedures related to Yardi Voyager 7S, RightSource, and RentCafé via in-person or recorded webinars.
  • Create and manage Yardi product-specific manuals tailored by department and job title.
  • Collaborate with Compliance to provide Yardi support to new and current employees during Lease Up.

Operational Excellence (Continuous Improvement):

  • Work closely with the Director of Strategic Initiatives to respond to continuous improvement process change submissions through Smart Steps that involve Yardi and/or its related products (i.e., RentCafé, RightSource, Aspire, Voyager 7S, etc.,).
  • Assist in creating and/or updating procedures from Smart Steps that involve Yardi and/or its related products.
  • Create and provide internal training related to system enhancements and process improvements.

Learning Management:

  • This position is responsible for uploading and monitoring Yardi related training materials in NHI’s learning management system (a Litmos platform).

This role will provide as needed support to the Director of Planning and Research in creating custom reports and performing necessary historical tenant file data cleaning in Voyager 7S. This may include and is not limited to creating meaningful reports for department leaders and assistance in troubleshooting the learning management platform.

Other Departmental Functions and Work Duties:

  • Performing other duties from time to time may be determined necessary for the well-being of the total operation.
  • Coordinate specific work tasks with personnel from other departments to ensure the smooth and accurate flow of work and information.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent working experience may be substituted for education at the discretion of the Director of Strategic Initiatives.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience using Yardi products including Voyager (Voyager 7S a plus), RentCafe and RightSource.
  • Must be able to mentor and teach core procedures.
  • Must have previous experience troubleshooting Yardi Voyager.
  • Must be able to travel to various sites for support and training purposes.
  • Proficient in providing end-user support in accounting, property management, and marketing.
  • General knowledge of multifamily property management processes and operations.
  • Strong organizational & interpersonal skills; the ability to work with users at all levels.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stooping - frequently bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.

  • Kneeling - frequently bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee or knees.
