Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Direct Sales Specialist to support the growth of our DPS/PHANTOM direct-to-consumer sales channel. As a Direct Sales Specialist, you will play a crucial role in identifying and closing qualified sales leads, managing consumer order flow, and providing exceptional customer service to our valued customers.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage direct-to-consumer order management and ensure seamless order processing.
  • Handle all inbound sales communications, assess sales opportunities, and successfully close sales.
  • Maintain consumer order flow using email, phone/SMS, social media) using internal CRM, ERP and webstore applications.
  • Oversee sales opportunities generated through our websites (dpsskis.com and [please apply online] including managing the front-end experience of our Shopify web store, performing daily content sweeps, monitoring inventory, and reviewing abandoned carts.
  • Maintain ongoing email communication, manage databases, and generate leads.
  • Serve as the ski finder administrator and be the go-to person for addressing consumer inquiries related to our products.
  • Prepare monthly sales reports to analyze performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Occasionally attend trade/consumer events, sales meetings, and provide support during ski demos.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to optimize the website for enhanced user experience.
  • Participate in the annual Go-to-Market process, with a focus on expanding the Direct-to-Consumer business.

What You Will Bring:

  • Exceptional customer service and sales skills, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with a keen focus on delivering brand and product messaging effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Previous experience with Shopify, Klaviyo, Help Scout, Attentive, IQMS (DPS ERP system), or similar customer experience applications.
  • Ability to drive sales growth, meet deadlines, and effectively manage cross-departmental projects and sales channels.
  • Strong ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and stay focused on tasks at hand.
  • Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends during peak seasonal periods.
  • Availability for local and national travel, particularly during the ski season (October-March).
  • Physical stamina to lift boxes, binders, and other materials up to 40 lbs and perform required shop work.
  • Comfort with occasional object movement weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, use a personal computer, engage with customers over the phone, and participate in demonstrations.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.

What You Will Experience:

  • Exceptional Customer Service and Sales Skills: Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service and exhibit strong sales skills, driving customer satisfaction and achieving sales targets.
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communications: Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both in written and verbal formats. Must be able to deliver brand and product messaging with clarity and eloquence.
  • Proficiency in Office Applications: Experience working with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as Google applications such as Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
  • Familiarity with Customer Experience Applications: Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to various customer experience applications, such as Shopify, Klaviyo, Help Scout, Attentive, IQMS (DPS ERP system), and others utilized by DPS.
  • Proven Sales Growth and Deadline Management: Track record of successfully growing sales, meeting deadlines, and effectively executing business plans across multiple departments and sales channels.
  • Ability to Thrive in Fast-Paced Environments: Demonstrated ability to remain focused, organized, and on-task in a fast-paced work environment, delivering results under pressure.
  • Flexible Work Schedule: Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends during peak seasonal periods. Ability to handle heavy workloads, attend and assist at demonstration events, and meet deadlines and sales objectives.
  • Travel Requirements: Availability for local and national travel, particularly during the ski season (October-March), to support business needs.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods and engage with customers over the phone. Capability to lift boxes, binders, and other materials weighing up to 40 lbs. Occasionally moving objects of similar weight may be required. Willingness to participate in demonstrations with clients, involving standing for prolonged periods.
  • Technical Proficiency: Regular use of computers, telephones, and the ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements.
