Newel is the largest decorative arts dealer based in New York City, Long Island City and now with a large showroom in Hollywood, Florida. With a dynamic curated collection, we operate a 9,000 square foot gallery in Manhattan and a 130,000 square foot showroom and warehouse in Long Island City. Following a recent acquisition, we have expanded our gallery operations to Hollywood, Florida. Our inventory is unparalleled in the industry, encompassing a wide range of styles from 17th Century Italian to Art Deco and from Regency to Rustic. Our Hollywood showroom consists mostly of investment quality, Mid-Century/ Modernist pieces. We provide customers with a unique experience not typically found with traditional dealers or at antique shows. In addition to sales, we offer rental services and provide full-service assistance in delivery, repair, refinishing, and installation.

We are seeking a talented and experienced design professional and natural-born salesperson to join our team in Hollywood, Florida, which is located at the South Florida Design Park, in Hollywood Florida, west of I95. As a Gallery Sales and Design Professional, you will work closely with the existing sales team, generating and managing new leads, and driving both in-gallery and online sales. Your responsibilities will include decorating, merchandising, conducting outreach activities, and providing support to ensure outstanding customer service. We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about antiques and fine art, eager to educate customers, and dedicated to providing exceptional service to new and existing clientele.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the existing sales team, as well as New York teams to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth.
  • Create and manage new leads, building and nurturing relationships with potential clients.
  • Assist in the growth of in-gallery and online sales through effective decorating and merchandising strategies.
  • Conduct outreach activities to expand the customer base and promote our gallery's offerings.
  • Educate customers about our extensive inventory, guiding them in making informed purchasing decisions.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by offering personalized recommendations and addressing inquiries and concerns.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market demands, and competitor offerings.
  • Maintain an organized and visually appealing gallery space, ensuring that inventory is displayed attractively and effectively.
  • Collaborate with the delivery and installation teams to facilitate smooth transactions and assist in logistics, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in sales, preferably within the antique or fine art industry.
  • Strong design sense and ability to create visually appealing displays. This position is very hands on.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural ability to build rapport with customers in the high end Luxury Segment.
  • Passion for antiques and fine art, with a deep understanding of various styles and historical periods. Knowledge of mid-century and modernism will be a plus.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using technology and comfortable with online platforms for sales and marketing purposes.
  • Availability to work flexible hours; weekends and evenings, as needed for appointments

Compensation is salary + commission based and is commensurate with experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
